Open concept to dining and family area, table seats 8 easily, high chair for your use. WeNoNah Royalex canoe and paddles provided for your lakeshore use. Dock fishing net, minnow bucket and wire live basket provided. High-flow air pump for your use on inflatables. A new FLOE power boat lift scheduled to be installed this Spring, will accommodate most fishing and bass boats, some smaller pleasure boats - up to 4600#, beam up to 102". If installation is delayed you can arrange dockage at nearbyTimbuktu Marina, or launch 5 minutes away. Note: Niles Bay can get pretty "bumpy" when breezy; you don't want your boat simply docked if it does. Electric outlet for battery charging near base of the dock. Lighted walkway down to dock for evening access. Timbuktu Marina and public boat launch in Oak Narrows (with large parking area for your rig) less than one mile and 5 minutes away, or park your trailer on our wide gravel drive. New screened fish cleaning house scheduled for this Spring. Come enjoy the adventure: the water, the fishing, the amazing sunsets and photo opportunities, and the family times that Lake Vermilion offers! SUMMER: minimum 7-day booking, unless there is a parcel of a few days apparent on the calendar. Contact me if questions. SPRING AND FALL: Before Memorial Day and after Labor Day, you can rent for 3 days minimum if you wish. SCHEDULE FLEXIBILITY: Not all "blocked dates" are carved in stone - let meknow if there is a need for some flexibility, and I will investigate for you. Additional information, if you want more specific detail: FAMILIES: We love sharing our northwoods "camp" with young families! We have a high chair and Pack and Play; plastic sheets available if you have kids who potentially need them, toddler beach digging toys available. Lower cabinet safety locks, electric outlet safety plugs and night lights available. We have a kiddie pool you can use if you and your toddler prefer to stay up on the cabin lawn, and swingset with regular and toddler seats. Many activites we can recommend to you - remember you have 40,000 acres of water and 365 islands just outside the door! Consider for instance the mine tour in Tower, several dining locations on the lake you can boat to, great picnic sites on islands and wilderness peninsulas, day trips on the lake, hike in to Trout Lake/BWCA, visit the black bear sanctuary in Orr, Wolf Center in Ely, Moosebirds for ice cream, and gift shops in various locations. We want your family to be happy and safe and your trip to be as hassle-free and memorable as possible. Just ask if other questions/concerns. We ask your kids to treat our home as if it were yours. (For instance, please discourage jumping on sofas or beds, no climbing on roofs, jumping off the 5' deck, standing on hot tub cover - it will break! - throwing toys indoors (fish mounts and artwork are delicate) or using bubbles in the house, etc. If you've got kids, you know the drill! We've got kids and grandkids, too!) PLEASE please supervise kids closely outside as water and campfires are such potential hazards. Safety first ensures only good memories. Make sure the kids wear buckled life jackets at all times on or near the water. DOG OWNERS: We understand your dogs are family, like ours, and vacationing with them is a joy but brings challenges. We have two sets of dog bowls, a large dog bed, large metal indoor kennel, dog throws to cover both sofas, screw-in lawn tether with 30' cable. Emergency vet services in town. We provide old towels designated to clean wet and muddy paws outside the living area.....please! One or two well-behaved dogs allowed, more......we should talk. There are no fences: if your dog is a wanderer, keep them close - you can bring your electric fence if desired. And PLEASE monitor their chosen "poop places", and clean up their solid waste. Poop shovel/rake and receptacle conveniently located outside, for your scooping pleasure. JET SKIS, TUBING, WATERSPORTS: We ask that you not jet ski or tube too close to shore or do repeated "drivebys" out in front - out of repect for our great neighbors. Lake Vermilion is 40,000 acres, and Niles Bay is 2 miles across, so it's easy to put some water between yourself and ears on the shore! MUSIC: Carries a mile or more across the water - thoughtfully keeping your music indoors will help preserve the serenity we know you came here for. Listen for the wind in the trees and the loon music at night. HOT TUB: If you wish to use it, will be freshly filled and reheating on your arrival. It does not have an "ozonator", so you will need to add chemicals each morning - very easy instructions will be provided, and if you have questions we are only a call away. We keep it set at 102 degrees and ask that you not adjust thermostat. Hot tubs may not be appropriate for youngsters and folks with some medical conditions, and cover should be locked when not in use to protect the little ones, and to retain heat. Of course, no dogs in the hot tub.........! FISHERMEN: Fish cleaning house with lighting, screens, electric knife sharpener, knives if you forget yours, small chest freezer and more are provided. Please don't clean fish in the cabin!
