Situated on the northern shores of Lake Sinclair and just minutes away from its sibling, Lake Oconee, Clover Cottage is uniquely located in the heart of Georgia's lake country, and its vistas, design, and amenities meet resort standards without the hassle of gate passes and congested traffic. Our 3-bedroom, 2-bath getaway evokes the traditional charm of a homestead barn while interpreting "off the beaten path" in a modern way.
The driveway, canopied by tree shade, opens up to a delightful farmhouse-inspired cottage. There's plenty of parking for multiple vehicles, and a keyless entry on the front door makes it easy to step inside and take in the brightness of an open concept design illuminated by abundant natural light and hardwood floors. The kitchen boasts quartz countertops and all new stainless steel appliances including a smooth stovetop oven, dishwasher, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, and microwave. Guests will have plenty of counter space for meal prep, and there is abundant dinnerware available. A spacious pantry offers generous storage for snacks and extras, and an adjacent stacked washer and dryer will put an end to a car full of dirty vacation laundry. A dining table for up to 8 and 4 additional barstools in addition to a new high chair invites lingering conversations and lasting memories.
With its cathedral ceiling, wagon wheel chandelier, stonefireplace, live edge coffee table, flatscreen TV, and clearview glass windows, the living area effortlessly combines modern convenience with rustic accents. Kick back on one of two plush sofas and binge-watch your favorite shows or enjoy the sounds and smells of a crackling fire on either side of the indoor-outdoor fireplace! Whether guests are water-logged, golf-fatigued, or retail-depleted, retire to one of four queen bedsthroughout the two levels. On the main level is a master suite with spectacular lake views. It's furnished with a queen bed, dresser, flatscreen TV, remote-controlled ceiling fan, and private bath with a double vanity, tub/shower, and walk-in closet. On the opposite wing of the cottage is a guest room with equally inspiring landscape right outside the lake-facing windows. It features a queen bed, flatscreen TV, remote-controlled ceiling fan, storage closet, and full bath with double vanity. The bathroom provides shared access from the kitchen hallway.
The upstairs loft is awash in sunlight and can sleep up to 4 on two queen beds. The overhead remote-controlled ceiling fan provides gentle breezes for anyone gazing over the balcony for a birdseye view of the living area and, of course, the sprawling backyard that meets the water's edge.
Despite all of Clover Cottage's indoor luxury and comfort, the unanimous gathering spot is the veranda just off the living area. With a propane grill, seating for up to 13, and a log fireplace, there is no waterside sunrise nor sunset that can't be viewed up close and personal. The private dock accommodates both boat and jetski, leaving guests and 15,000 acres of Lake Sinclair separated only by a short stroll across the lawn.
Just down the road is the community of Rockville, whose two-story schoolhouse constructed in 1889 is a piece of state history. It's believed that it was the first consolidated academy in Georgia, meaning that it combined students who were scattered throughout smaller schools in surrounding rural areas. For a slice of more current local life, plenty of restaurants and retails shops are a 20-minute drive away. Harmony Crossing is home to some of our favorites, including LaLore Café and 44 Marketplace. In neighboring Greensboro, stock up at Publix, enjoy breakfast at Café 44, or try one of the blends from PJ's Coffee of New Orleans.
