Large one-bedroom, one-bath apartment located right in downtown Juneau. Built in 1925, the MacKinnon Apartment building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building underwent structural renovations in 2000. For a number of years after that the building was used for low income housing,, but it has not been used in that capacity for a number of years. The current owners bought the building two years and have extensively remodeled. Many of the current tenants are legislative and state employees who work in the nearby State Capitol building and State Office Building.. This apartment features a king size bed in the bedroom, and a queen size foldout bed in the living room. The MacKinnon Building is located just a few blocks from all of Juneau's downtown shops, restaurants, craft breweries and distillery, the Capitol building, the city museum, as well as trail heads for several excellent hiking trails. It is a short walk to the tram, seaplane base, state museum, marinas, and various tour pickup points. This is a third floor apartment (no elevator), that features a great view of downtown, Gastineau Channel, and the mountains of Douglas Island. A coin operated laundry is available in the building. Cable TV and wifi are provided. Parking on street only. This apartment is furnished, with towels, linens, and dishes. Meals and maid service are not provided.
