It just doesn’t get better than this!
Catching Summer is a place made for gathering with family and friends. Three bedrooms are located upstairs leaving a large open kitchen, dining, and living area downstairs. A large screened porch with comfortable seating and dining extends from the living area. Ample parking means no hassles and the covered open carport provides another space for keeping the cook company when the grill is fire hot, but if cooking is not on the agenda, several restaurants are near. If staying in is your choice Catchin' Summer has all the amenities you’ll need: washer, dryer, fully-stocked kitchen, fresh linens and luxurious bath towels. You'll find two beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, fun-in-the-sand toys for the kiddos. You just bring your beach towel and sunscreen. Use the beach cart to take it all to the white sands and waves or if you want, rent a golf cart from the local vender and drive down to the shore. The choice is yours. If you want more options, the list is impressive. Within walking distance you'll find Salinas Park - pickle ball court, volleyball, playground with swings, strolling boardwalk, firepit and picnic tables. Presnell's offers boat rentals; there are local businesses for kayaks and paddle boards and even horseback riding. If eating out is your thing, there so many choices: for seafood, LongBill's, St. Joe Shrimp Co Indian Pass Raw Bar, Hunt's Seafood and there's The Smokehouse within walking distance and we can't leave out the local watering hole, The Scallop Republic. Travel 10 minutes in to Port St. Joe for a variety of restaurants. This quaint seaside town is a shoppers paradise and if you're lucky you'll pick a time for your stay when the locals are having a parade or show. It's a treat you won't want to miss. On the other end of the 20 miles of white sand, you'll find the state park, but you'll have to travel into town to tour the Cape San Blas Light House and caretaker cottages. Before the Gulf could capture these landmarks, they were moved to Port St. Joe. Apalachicola is a 20 minute drive, a great place for a day trip for more shopping and eating or catching the Seafood Festival.

Summary: Catching summer was a great place to stay. My only wish is for a bigger pool. We usually stay at the beach more than the pool, but due to the high winds, we needed the pool. It was a bit small for the number of people using it.
