Get back into nature in this spacious and serene space. Welcome to Tarlington House. Perched on the mountain overlooking Hinze Dam and a seemingly-endless view of native emerald bushland, you’ll find this tropical oasis for up to 10 guests. In the evening, unwind on the bright and breezy entertaining deck or in the indoor living room that surrounds the fireplace. The space is ultra relaxing, cozy yet modern newly build home! It comprises of 3 bedrooms upstairs and fully contained 1 bedroom granny flat downstairs.
A newly built abode designed to be supremely private & tranquil within beautiful parkland gardens featuring a picturesque view out towards Springbrook National Park, Hinze Dam and distant ocean vistas.
Enjoy a stay that has you feeling good about your environmental footprint, with the use of rainwater tanks for water, and fireplace burning natural wood fire for warmth.
• Four great size bedrooms
-Main bedroom: has views of the mountains and ensuite with a Bath and seperate shower as well as a walk in Wardrobe - King size bed.
-Bedroom 2: Has 2 long single beds with each a trundle pull out bed, so you can sleep up to 4 people (Note the trundle beds will need to be set up by the guests if needed, linen will be provided, they are very easy roll out beds and one of them can be easily rolled to the bedroom 3 or in the office nook for more space)
-Bedroom 3: has 1 king size bed.
-Bedroom 4: It is located down stairs (need to access it via outside as it is part of a separate granny flat located on lower level of the house). It has 1 queen size bed and has its own bathroom and kitchen/sitting area. Also has views of the mountains. This would suit a teenager or another couple or member of the group/family who would like added privacy from the main house. Not suitable to sleep kids under the age of 12 years as supervision of the kids will be limited. Also please note that the access to granny flat will only be available for booking of 8 people or over. If you are 7 booked or less, the granny flat will be locked. If you do wish to still have the use of granny flat with 7 people or less, please enquire to discuss how we can accomodate.
. Three Bathrooms. All bathrooms have towels, bath mats, hand towels, shampoo-soap-conditioner amenities. Also have hairdryers.
-Ensuite attached to the main bedroom and has a full size bath.
-Bathroom 2: servicing bedroom 2 and 3.
-Bathroom 3: located in he granny flat and servicing the bedroom 4.
.Kitchens.
-Main house: Stone kitchen - s/s appliances, induction cooktop large pantry, breakfast bar PLUS additional preparation space. It also comes with all plates and cutlery, pots and pans to cook up a storm. In addition it has coffee machine, kettle, toaster, soda stream, Air Fryer and dishwasher. You will find all the cleaning products you need and cooking oils and salt and pepper and tea towels.
-Granny flat kitchen: it is a smaller one but has a fridge, electric cooking plate, tea and coffee facilities.
.Office. There is a vary spacious office nook with desk and chair for those needing to work. It also has lots of shelves and you will find books and board games for those tranquil nights in spend by the fireplace.
.Laundry. Seperate room with washing machine and dryer and washing products. Located in the main house (no washing machine in the granny flat)
.living/dinning spaces. Open plan living with very high ceilings!
-1 lounge for watching TV inside (Smart TV 55 inches streaming Netflix and Disney+).
-1 lounge for sitting by the fireplace.
-1 dining table for those family meals inside.
• Large outdoor undercover entertainment zone - extension of living and a perfect place to unwind and take in those views.
-1 lounge for watching TV outside (Standard TV only). There is also another TV in the granny flat, note that it is a standard TV .
- 1 dining table for those family meals outdoors.
.Heating and cooling. Note that the seasonal weather on the mountain is amazing - generally speaking the temperature can be approx 5 degrees cooler and the fireplace is paramount for a cosy night or day inside.
-Fireplace: makes the center of the living spaces with some awesome couches to unwind after a full day of bushwalking or wine tasting or both! Note that you can purchase wood from Beechmont general store located only 1 min drive from the house at 20$ per bag.
-Reverse cycle air/conditioning in the master bedroom and the granny flat ( bedroom 4).
-Fans in the bedroom 2 and 3 and living spaces.
.Outdoor gardens. Perched at the foothills of the scenic Lamington National Park, this private four acre parcel offers sweeping views, beautiful established gardens and a great sense of returning back to nature!
-There is a very small dam, so young kids need to be supervised at all times.
-There is an outdoor flat space for the kids to kick a ball or play on the trampoline. Note that this space may be shared with other guests staying on the same property but further up with they own seperate driveway into their cottage for maximum privacy. (see photos showing the main residence and the cottage to get an idea of the privacy available).
-There is also a campfire area set up, reserved for the main house guests (the cottage guests have their own fire pit near their place).
Please note there is a general store located 1 min drive or 5 minutes walk from the cottage which will offer a small selection of general goods including bags of wood (open every day of the week from 7.30am to 5.30pm and on week ends from 7.30am to 3pm). However as there are not many evening dine out options nearby (Pink Galah Cafe being the closest only 1 min drive away or 5 minutes walk but only open until 5pm on week days and 10pm on Friday and Saturday), it is highly recommended that you organise a grocery stop before heading to your accomodation. (Coles in Nerang being the closest to the cottage and only 20 minutes drive).
Driving distances: (NOTE: Due to flood damages from March 2022, the Beechmont rd to access the property will be closed from Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 2.30pm which means that during those times, the below travel journey via the alternate road will add 25 min to your driving time)

Note that on the same property, there is also a cottage offered as a holiday let that welcome up to 4 guests. While you share a bit of the driveway into the property they will have a driveway turning to the right to access the cottage. The 2 dwellings are far away enough so privacy is not impacted.
Note that while the camp fire area is all yours to enjoy, kids that may stay at the cottage are able to use the trampoline which is located to the far right of the house in the flat garden area. This could be an opportunity for your own kids to play with other friends.
There is a ring camera located at the entrance door for security purposes.

Take extra care driving down the driveway as it is very steep and especially at night when it gets foggy, visibility is very limited.
Please note, there are stairs to access the property. Also there is a steep pathway down the granny flat so appropriate footwear should be worn (i.e no high heels).
While this is a kids friendly property, note that there is a dam and no fence towards the bush, so kids need to be supervised at all times.
This rental is NOT suitable for persons that require mobility assistance or wear stilettos, due to gravelled and uneven surfaces, multiple levels, meandering pathways, and rock-formed steps.
