Positive: Anna, the host, was extremely nice but I have to be honest about my review, considering my experience. The location is wonderful and opens up to a nice promenade along the sea, and is within walking distance to a few restaurants.
Negative: First of all, I didn't know there were 2 units. When I booked only one unit appeared in the listing so I assumed I would be getting the one shown in the photos with the covered terrace and the direct sea view. (It is not clear from the property description that some photos represent another unit!) The only sea view I had in my unit was when I opened the little wooden gate in the garden fence that completely blocked the sea view. Also, a BBQ was listed but apparently that is only in the other unit. There is a large table outside for dining but unfortunately just above the table is the window to the bathroom of the other unit, so basically one hears everything (including the washing machine) from the bathroom while sitting at the table. It doesn't make for a tranquil setting. The large bedroom has a double bed and two single beds, but I have never slept on a more uncomfortable mattress. The mattress on the double bed was completely broken, so I ended up sleeping on one of the single beds, which were hard and also uncomfortable, but I didn't have a choice. An old, small, 2-person sofa bed in the kitchen area is also uncomfortable for just sitting. There are other things that need to be updated or fixed, such as the refrigerator cabinet which is broken so you first have to open the cabinet and then squeeze your hand in to open the refrigerator door and freezer. I can't imagine not fixing this for paying guests. Another minor, but irritating thing is the lack of holder for the silverware after they're washed. The amazing thing is that I discovered this unit costs more than the 2-bedroom unit which has all the listed amenities! So, I suspect this unit is meant for large groups of people who just want a place by the sea and a place to sleep at night. Perhaps my feedback will be used to improve the property as it has the potential to be a much better place to spend a vacation. Perhaps the good reviews I read before booking are for the adjoining unit??
