Perfect for: • Relaxing stress-busting break from city life. • Romantic couple’s retreat. • Fun family escape. Experience: • Full of varying birdlife at different times of the year, the view of the vast lake is incredible. Relax and enjoy the ever-changing lake views from the front porch or under the shade of the large Moreton Bay Fig tree. • Very peaceful, the only noise is from the birds and cows. Pat a cow, read a book, paint, indulge in photography.... whatever takes your fancy. • Try your luck fishing from the lake’s edge or the jetty (BYO fishing rods). • Launch your own small tinny or kayak and explore the lake. The lake is shallow and great for a dip - just bring some reef shoes to protect your feet. • Do nothing and just enjoy the peace and quiet. Kitchen: • Fully fitted country style kitchen with microwave and freestanding cooker, so you don't ever have to leave the cottage if you don't want to. • Full fridge, toaster, toasted sandwich maker and stick blender. • Electric kettle (sorry – no coffee pod machine). Local Dining & Wineries: • Clayton Bay has Sails, for good takeaway and eat-in meals. • Milang has a bakery, café, takeaway food shop and the Milang Hotel. • Restaurants at some of the local wineries in Langhorne Creek as well as a great pub. • The wineries at Langhorne Creek and Currency Creek are about a 20 minute drive from Point Sturt (in different directions). Location: • Point Sturt projects into Lake Alexandrina, a large fresh water lake which, along with Lake Albert, forms part of the Lower Lakes system at the end of the River Murray. It is located just north of the Coorong, a beautiful part of South Australia to explore. • The townships of Strathalbyn and Goolwa are each about 25 minutes away from Nanda Farm. Spend some time fossicking through the shops in these towns and discovering the surrounding countryside. How to get here: • Point Sturt is just over an hour's drive from the Tollgate at the bottom of the SE Freeway. • Turn off at Mt Barker, go through Strathalbyn and Milang, then drive south by the lake toward Clayton Bay. • When you get to Point Sturt Rd turn left - it's the only road before Clayton Bay. • Nanda Farm is 7 km down Point Sturt Rd, on the left, number 1035.
