This delightful two-bedroom vacation rental is updated for you and your family. Selecting this affordable lodging allows you to splurge on other local treats. Nestled in a wooded setting, in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood between HWY 101 and the beach, , 'My Cousin's Cottage' is freshly painted, carpeted, renovated and decorated with interesting variety of high-end art, and antiques. Treat yourselves to this quiet cottage away from jangling phones, TVs and other electronics. NO WIFI..but a sanctuary-like comfortable space with woodland surrounding as you relax on the quiet back deck with your morning coffee and conversation or just a good book. In the evening, a lovely glass of local wine or microbrew could accompany the fresh caught seafood from the ports just minutes away. The master bedroom, with its 1800's antique walnut bed, features a small private bath and a large walk-in closet. You'll love the casual, eclectic assembly of fun, interesting furnishings and art. The guest bedroom has a queen size bed, large closet and large tub/shower bath across the hall. Plenty of windows to enjoy the woodland views, bask in the ocean breezes and hear the surf. Family meals are easy with fully equipped kitchen, dining area and rear deck allowing relaxing, fun meals indoors or out. Even when you are on vacation, you too can wash clothes-- (full laundry facility with washer, dryer). Well-behaved, tidy dogs are allowed. Dog-friendly equipment is on site-- small backyard is fenced. No smoking is allowed on the property. Garage (one car) is over-sized, with lighted work bench if you really want to repair that bicycle. Concrete driveway allows for two cars in tandem. This rental provides easy access (less than 20 minute drive) to the nearby coastal towns of Newport, Seal Rock, Waldport, and Yachats. Many local fun festivals take place for the whole family (and dogs, too) year round. Explore the myriad of terrific eateries and shopping along with hiking and biking trails, State and National Parks nearby. Farmer's markets, microbreweries, wineries, and delicious wonderful bistros and bakeries are all around and manned by intriguing locals. Kids will have days of fun at the renowned aquarium and historic port in Newport and then return back to splash in our neighborhood stream. Fly kites on the beach, build sand castles, play frisbee, watch the seals and walk miles with Fido. Build forts and fires-- enjoy sunset cook-outs. Driftwood State Park(well named) is adjacent to our neighborhood. Our magnificent beach is exceptional-- open, long and wide with gradual shallow depth--easy wading (fun in a negative tide!). Lots of beach grasses, interesting beach combing--especially after those famous winter storms! To maximize your privacy, cleaning services are not included during your stay. Mandatory housekeeping service at the end of your stay ($75 minimum-up to 3 hours). Our Silver Sands Neighborhood is quiet and peaceful with many local residents and only a few rentals. This is NOT a party place. Minimum age is 26 years old to rent this property . Please observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Plenty of free WIFI hotspots in the area. Cell phone service is reliable-- feel free to call me if you need anything during your stay. Check in time: 4 PM / Check out time: 11 AM Deposit Policy: All payments must be complete with VISA/MC/check, money order or cashier's check within 7 days or reserved nights will be released. The first 2 nights of reservation will be payable upon booking; in the case of a weekly rental, 50% of the reservation will be payable upon booking. The remaining balance will be payable 14 days prior to the arrival date. An additional damage deposit of $250 is required which will be refunded 7-10 days after departure.
