If you are dreaming of the perfect country setting with an easy drive to a fabulous local restaurants, shopping, antiquing, water activities, incredible hiking and stunning antique homes, then you will fall in love with our Captain's house and guest cottage.
This stunning property was published in House and Garden, Connecticut Country and Connecticut Cottages and Gardens, this 1793 Colonial with two story columns, front and rear porches, two fireplaces, exposed wood beams and wide board floors is perfect in both summer and winter months with so much to offer in all seasons. A private guest house for extra privacy with guests overlooks the gardens and is just steps from the in ground heated pool. Gorgeous grounds include perennial gardens, stonewalls, babbling brook and blissful tranquility. Main house includes formal bright living room for entertaining , dining room and a gourmet kitchen that backs onto a massive backyard veranda for late afternoon lunch and dinners..It has 2 junior bedrooms and 1 master suite. The master suite and downstairs bedroom both have queen beds and the bedroom upstairs has a single . There are 1.5 remodeled baths.
The guest house is completely separate from the main house and has a kitchen and living room combination, beautiful bath and a large upper level bedroom with a queen bed.
Wonderful location for easy access to shopping, restaurants and parks. We also have a fully fenced in yard for families with pets. Just minutes to New Preston center and Washington Depot and 90 minutes from Manhattan.
The location provides great opportunities for walking, hiking or running around the beautiful Lake Waramaug. We are also central to the best dining in New England. There is no shortage of activities for all ages or you can simply lay around the beautiful pool with a good book.
Well behaved pets are welcome.
