Perfect for coastal exploring and lovely local events Tucked in a quiet corner in the picturesque conservation village of Lesbury, this attractive period cottage sits right on the River Aln mid-way between the village Warkworth and the lovely market town of Alnwick. Presented in a relaxed country style, the sitting room features the original Northumberland sandstone inglenook fireplace, while a colour palette of soft greys and heathery blues add a sophisticated edge. Lighting by Pooky and Jim Lawrence further enhance the space. Here you can spend days on sweeping sandy beaches before returning to the warmth of the woodburning stove on chillier evenings with supper by the fireside. The property has a small but well equipped galley kitchen, while upstairs guests can enjoy a sumptuous double bed with charming window seat, along with en-suite bathroom and a large contemporary bath tub for a relaxed soak. GROUND FLOOR Front door leads into a well proportioned living room with large inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove. Large double sofa with armchair. Dining area for four. Technology includes TV with Freeview and DVD player with a selection of DVDs. The galley kitchen is compact but equipped with all the holiday essentials including a gas hob, electric oven, small dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment. FIRST FLOOR Double bedroom with super king bed, two side tables, built-in wardrobe/storage, dressing table. En-suite bathroom with shower unit, large bath, heated towel rail, basin and WC. OUTSIDE A small lawned garden sits to the front of the property which is shared with two nearby estate properties. Directly to the left of the property sits the River Aln which has an attractive lawned area with tables for picnics. There is a small outside storage yard/area where bikes and outdoor kit can be kept. PARKING There is parking for one car to the front of the access courtyard gates. BABIES & CHILDREN A travel cot and highchair are available on request but regrettably to the size of the property there is no additional provision for children. DOGS Dogs are not permitted.
