It is privately set on 18 acres made up of typical Granite Belt native bushland, rock formations, fields, nature and Australian wildlife. Staying at Merlot Mountain Haven with your dog means you can relax and truly experience the peaceful country scenery and a unique property all to yourself. Whether you are looking for a relaxing retreat, a romantic getaway, an escape from the busy city lifestyle, or to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, or other special occasions, Merlot Mountain will deliver excellence and quality.
We welcome all dog breeds and sizes up to 4 dogs. We do welcome dogs in the house, assuming they are fully toilet trained and treated for ticks and fleas and don't go on the human beds. We provide a dog bed and dog food/water bowls and blankets and towels to clean their paws if needed. We only ask that you don't leave them unsupervised in the house, so if you do need to leave and can't take them with you, please use the backyard. Guests are responsible for any damage that may result from bringing your dog(s).
A few dog rules to consider:
* We love welcoming dogs who are fully toilet trained, vaccinated and treated for fleas & ticks.
* Your dog(s) are welcome to stay inside the house with you, just not on the human beds.
* We kindly ask that you clean up after your dog using our doggy bags and place them in the designated bins.
* Please use our special dog towels to dry off your dog's paws after a run, swim or fun play in the dirt to help us keep the house clean for everyone to enjoy.
* Needless to say, your dog is well behaved and respectful of wildlife and our neighbouring properties
* Your dog will sleep on its own bed or in a crate.
* Your dog won't go on furniture, unless you use our dog blankets provided.
* If your dog is well trained and has a reliable recall, you are welcome to have your dog(s) off leash on the property.
* If you must leave your dog alone, please use the fenced garden and don't leave dogs unsupervised in the house.
The charming dog friendly country house is all set on one level, and comes with a spacious living and dining room with a slow combustion fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen. It is recently built, bringing you all the modern comforts and luxury while oozing a traditional country vibe.
There is nothing more inviting and welcoming than the wraparound verandah alongside three sides of the house. A perfect spot where memories are shared and created, great conversations had, books read and stories told. The property also features a large fully fenced garden to keep your furry friend safe.
Master bedroom comes with a private ensuite and walk-in robe, and a comfortable queen sized bed. When staying here, you will also have access to the main bathroom and a separate toilet. The Manna room is a large bedroom with a queen sized bed. The Karra room is set up with two single beds.
For bookings for 1 or 2 people happy to share a room, the Mountain Ash Master bedroom is automatically allocated. If you need more bedrooms, please select 3 to 6 people. For 3 to 4 people, the Manna room with a queen bed is added. For 5 to 6 people the Karra room is allocated which has two single beds.

Yes, we love the Granite Belt for its cool winters and nothing beats sitting next to a cosy fire! During the colder seasons, we will set up the fireplace for you so it's ready to go when you arrive. But don't worry, there is a supply of firewood all year round for you to have that fireplace experience – just because you can!
Oh and to cater for your musical inspiration, there's even a small piano situated in the living room for you to enjoy.
