Summary: We rented a 1BR villa privately owned within a Marriott hotel. We felt we were treated like something other than an appreciated guest beginning with check in. We arrived at 3:30 for a 4:00 check in. Without even checking to see if our unit was ready (it was), the clerk abruptly told us we were private owners and we had to wait until 4:00. The upkeep of the hotel grounds was shabby as was the condition of the common areas. Also, because we weren't "Marriott guests", we weren't permitted to sit in "their" private beach area unless we paid a daily 40 fee. I strongly feel that this owner needs to make his case with Marriott's management. We will not be returning.
