Welcome to Maggie's Cottage at Brown's Mountain. This is a completely renovated 2 bedroom, 2 full bath cottage that is surrounded by 215 acres of pure country. Once you enter the gate, you will drive over 1 mile to get to the cottage. Views of Old Rag from the front field are spectacular. The stocked 3 acre pond comes complete with a small row boat, so try your luck and fish for bluegills and large-mouth bass (catch and release). Fishing rods are available for your use. A winding gravel road takes you the cottage, nestled in a clearing in the woods. It is cozy, clean and charming. The master bedroom and bathroom is upstairs, along with a washer and dryer. On the main floor you'll find the second bedroom with 2 single beds and another full bath. The family room has comfy seating to watch DVD's on the flatscreen TV. We do not get any channels on the TV. We have very limited cell service on the property. Cell service is best accessed from the highest point, that being the front field. The adjacent kitchen is new, with bar seating for 4. A wrap around open deck, an outdoor grill, and a fire pit in the front yard completes the cottage. Firewood is provided. Explore all 215 acres. Use the rowboat to fish for big bass on the property. Bring your mountain bikes or ATV's to explore property, or just sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery and numerous wildlife. At night, sit on the front porch or at the fire pit and marvel at the stars. This is the place to be "off the grid" and relax. We're located just off Virginia's Route 231, one of America's ten most outstanding scenic byways, and back up to Shenandoah National Park. For hikers, Old Rag trailhead parking lot is just 2 miles away. White Oak Canyon trailhead is just 15 minutes by car. Ready to do something more?. Wine tasting is just minutes away at Sharp Rock Vineyard. Great restaurants, breweries, shopping and antiquing can be found in Sperryville, Va., a quick 15 minute drive. Or head to Madison, VA (20 minutes south) , and check out the many outstanding wineries, cheese factories, historic sites, civil war battlefields, and breweries, shopping and restaurants. Only one hour away is Luray caverns, historic Monticello and the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. As you can tell, there is much to do, with LOTS of privacy at Maggie's Cottage.
