And as far as shopping, there is no better place than Wellsboro to the north and Williamsport to the South. And during the winter months, Oregon Hill Ski resorts offers a pleasurable day on the slopes. And then, the best for last. A mile down the road, rests Pennsylvania's Gameland #75, the largest hunting and nature reserve in Pennsylvania, rated best in Pennsylvania hunting black bear and turkey, but don't forget to hike the many logging trails built years ago, when these mountains supplied the timber for downstream clipper ships. Yes, everyone once in their life deserves a vacation in a nature setting. And believe me, there is no better place than our Cozy Cabin situated in the woods of Pennylvania. From the time you turn into that old logging road and are welcomed by our "Welcome Bear" to the time you say "Good Bye", this will be the very best vacation of your life. And we guarantee that you'll be back for many vacations to come. The Pine Creek Trail, listed as one of our nation's best trails, is the perfect vacation activity for the nature lover who enjoys walking or bicycling. The seventy-two mile trail, running from Galeton to Jersey Shore, passes right through Pennsylvania's Grand Canyon, which houses the Pine Creek, where vacationers can ride the rapids either on their own or with the aid of a tour guide. And it's almost certain that your eyes will feast on sites such as our national bird, the bald eagle, black bear and white tail deer. The Little League World Series is one our nation's most treasured sporting events ranked right up there with MLB's World Series and the NFL's Super Bowl. Yes, there are two weeks in August where the vacationer can travel some twenty-five miles south to South Williamsport to witness youth baseball at its best. And it's free. Such an enjoyable time to just sit back and enjoy watching these young baseball players from not only the US, but from all around the globe, as they compete for the Little League World Series championship. A few miles from Trout Run, as you travel up the mountain, sets Rose Valley Lake, a beautiful body of water located in a most pristine setting. Rose Valley Lake is rated as one of the best fishing lakes in all of Pennsylvania, stocked by the Pennsylvania's Boat and Fish Commission. Whether you choose the Grumman twelve foot canoe or the fourteen foot Dura-Nauta with trolling motor, the day will be just be perfect hauling in that big one, sure to satisfy any fish lover's appetite. The Little Pine Creek State Park offers a serene lake setting for swimming, boating, picnicing and hiking. Take a day, pack a lunch and head out for the park. Put your blanket on the ground and just stare out at the beautiful Little Pine Lake with its mountainous backdrop. Believe me, if you enjoy looking at Pennsylvania's beauty of Fall Foliage, there is no better place on earth than to take photos of the Little Pine woods. If you love history, travel to Williamsport and take a trip back into time as you travel along Millionaire's Row, looking out at the many Victorian style homes of the late 1880s when timber to our north was King. Day after day, logs would be timbered in route down the Susquehanna to the Chesapeake to end up on Clipper Ships in route for waterway travel. Complete your historical adventure, with a trip on the Hiawatha paddle wheeled river boat and learn all the history of this time. Your adventure will take you back in time when this lumber to the north created great wealth, making Williamsport a newly created cultural center for all of central Pennsylvania. Gameland #75 is Pennsylvania's gem for hunting. By far, this game land harvests the most black bear and turkey in all of Pennsylvania. Year after year, this game land is home to hunters from all over, looking to harvest that trophy of a lifetime. And our logging roads provide easy access from moving from location to location. Yes, this is hunting at its best. So, in summary, come visit God's Place, our vacation home equipped with all the peace and serenity that everyone deserves.
