Or even, the historic Roman town Durnovaria, or as we know it today, Dorchester. Lulworth cove and Durdle door is about a 20 min car drive away.
Local beaches in the area include Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Weymouth, Studland, Bournemouth and Poole (all around 30 minutes or less drive). Walking is a delight and the area has comprehensive footpaths and bridleways over the surrounding countryside and along the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline.
