Summary: Know before booking: Kitchen layout is great! If you are cooking for a large group, it allows for several cooks in the kitchen. There is a full-sized double oven. The kitchen cleaning supplies we found were sensible. The drawers were “disorganized”. We expect this with cottage rentals because all the guests that come before, but they also often leave staples behind as well! No tankless hot water supply. Stagger showers and bathes in large groups. The internet testing we did during our stay gave results between 4-15 MB/s Down and 0.8-1.5MB/S Up. Another reviewer mentioned watching the world cup so the speeds we saw were likely due to the big winter storm during which we stayed. The host is not a resort manager. They work and are busy. Harvir responded to all of our questions, but there were delays. This is understandable given how busy work can get around the holidays. What we liked: The price, spaciousness, big bright windows all over the house, outdoor firepit, nice hot tub, functional kitchen, an impressive home gym, and layout. The central area of the house comprises three common areas: The eat-in kitchen, the dining room, and one of the house’s living rooms. Large groups will have space to spread out and easily flow together between these different areas. There are other living/tv/sitting rooms away from the main hub. The noise insulation is done relatively well, and the house is so big that sound was not an issue. Nobody woke up grumpy from interrupted sleep! Water is clean and potable. Pressure is good. Bathrooms and showers are comfy spaces. The bathtub and hot tub were very much appreciated after hikes along the K&P trail (which you can access just a minute or two walk down the highway). There is a well-supplied grocer 4KM down the road, plus general store, HH, liquor stores, and gas stations. Roads were cleared and salted early and frequently. Ultimately, our large, multigenerational family was very comfortable here and the space worked nicely. While there will be a few small things here and there, hosting large groups of people has always been that way for us and we were able to switch off “work mode” almost immediately and enjoy the lovely grounds and each other’s’ company. The atmosphere of the home and the surrounding nature feels peaceful and comfy, which is always a good ingredient for big get-togethers!
