Summary: If you are looking for a relaxing home base near Kona, highly recommend this condo. The resort is small and quiet, but had several activities to keep our kids busy during downtime. A local grocery store and restaurants are essentially across the street and had everything we needed. We did day trips to the Kohala coast, Volcano, and the southern coast, which required some longer driving from this location, but that allowed us to see most of the island during our few days. The view of the bay from the covered lanai while having breakfast with the many tropical birds was perfect. A few helpful notes: the angle of the condo is great for watching schools of tangs swim in and out, but not good for sunsets. There is a public access trail to the water steps away from the resort entrance and very close to the condo. Very little sand, but a nice, semi-private place for a morning dip or snorkeling.
