Every room looks out over the lawn past the birch and pines onto the world's largest freshwater lake. Relax with your coffee on the seawall as waves crash against the boulder-strewn shore. Listen to the call of loons or relax on the log swing as you watch the sun rise. The North Shore of Lake Superior will thrill you with its wilderness beauty. For the outdoor adventurer, the 3 state parks located within 9 miles of the house will amaze you with an historic cliff-top lighthouse at Split Rock, towering waterfalls at Gooseberry and Tettegouche, rock climbing on Shovel Point and Palisade Head, kayaking at all the parks, bicycling on the Gitchi-Gammi Trail (top of our driveway) and shopping and dining within 10 minutes at Castle Danger, Beaver Bay and Silver Bay. You'll also be within an hour of Grand Marais, where you'll find dozens of restaurants and shops as well as access to the Gunflint Trail, and you'll be a half hour from Two Harbors with its giant ore docks, lighthouse, shopping and dining. For downhill skiers, you'll be 40 minutes from Lutsen Mountains ski resort and 1 hour from Spirit Mountain. Want to play a round of golf? You're 40 miles from Superior National Golf Course. You can even charter a Lake Superior fishing expedition out of Silver Bay Marina (5 miles away), rent snowmobiles from Beaver Bay Sports, or rent a boat for small lake fishing on Lax Lake nearby. Bikes, canoes and kayaks are available from local outfitters as well. This four-bedroom home features a spacious living and dining room area with beautiful Lake Superior views, a gas fireplace, 2 queen-sized beds, 2 doubles beds and a crib.
