Summary: Very clean, lots of welcoming touches. We liked the neighborhood and it was perfect for our needs. We used the extremely close public transportation for all our tourism and there were food shops as well as small restaurants very nearby. The kitchen had everything we needed. There were plenty of supplies such as paper towels, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher tabs, etc. I really had the idea that someone was trying to anticipate our needs. We knew that noise from the El might be an issue for us, and it was indeed a problem for the two lighter sleepers. There was also an issue with the radiators: two leaked, and one bedroom was simply too hot to sleep in, since the radiator could not be turned down or off and the thermostat is not accessible from the unit. Those of us in the hot bedroom were able to move to the fold-out couch in the living room, and that was quite acceptable. We understand that the owner had made arrangements to fix the radiators, so this shouldn’t be an ongoing problem. We also recommend that the owner provide some bed pillows that are not so hugely overstuffed. All eight bed pillows were identical and the thickest I have ever seen. Two of us were simply unable to use them, and slept on towels or clothing stuffed into the pillowcases. With eight pillows, it would be easy to have at least two or three different thicknesses available, as even cheaper motels are doing.
