Positive: Great location in the old town, surrounded by charming, narrow streets, where you can really feel the vibe of Italian life. However, if you have heavy suitcases, it's better to take a taxi, as you have to climb quite a bit, which isn’t the most pleasant in the full sun. 😀 The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and had a nice loft-style decor. However, it was different from what was shown in the photos – we received a different apartment, very similar, but not exactly the same as the one offered on booking. A big plus for allowing us to enter the apartment an hour earlier than the platform indicated.
Negative: 1. **Communication with the owner** – I was messaging through booking in English, but the owner initially replied in Italian. Later, they asked to switch to WhatsApp, where, fortunately, they responded in English. 2. **Request to send ID photos via WhatsApp** – On the day of arrival, before receiving instructions on how to access the apartment, we were asked to send photos of both sides of the ID cards of all guests via WhatsApp, without any explanation why. We didn’t feel comfortable with this and had concerns about the safety of our personal data. We only sent photos of the front side and raised our concerns. It was only later explained to us that the owner is obliged to register all guests, even for just one night, with the state police through an official website, where they have the necessary authorizations and credentials. We understand this obligation, but we still believe that sending data through WhatsApp is not compliant with the EU GDPR directive. Additionally, we did not receive any information notice regarding the processing of our data, which is legally required. 3. **Tourist tax** – We were required to leave the exact cash amount on the table. We would have preferred to pay into a specific account or along with the booking payment. Leaving cash was inconvenient, as we had to find a place to exchange money, which wasn’t always possible. 4. **The apartment was different from the one shown in the booking photos** – On booking, a different apartment was offered than the one we received. It was similar, but still different.
