(anonymous) Little House on the River is nestled at the base of the western slope of the Cumberland Mountains in the scenic Rocky River Community of Van Buren County. Situated in the heart of Middle Tennessee, and centrally located between Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Nashville, it is located 2.8 miles off Hwy. 30 - 15 miles east of McMinnville and 15 miles west of Spencer at 14142 Rocky River Road, Rock Island, TN. This cozy little cottage was completed in October 2008. It is surrounded by over 5 acres , has 640 square feet of living space, 384 square feet of covered porches, and a 162 square feet patio. You won't be able to resist relaxing in the swing or sitting in one of the rocking chairs on the back porch as you watch the river wash your cares away. You will also want to hike along the almost 1400 feet of clean, spring-fed river. Keep your eyes open for beavers, otters, squirrels, chipmunks, wood ducks, blue herons, Canada geese,and the neighbor's cows across the river. Bring your fishing pole - the river is stocked with trout several times a year. You will want to walk down to the river and spend some peaceful time there with its beautiful views up and down the river. There is a hammock right above there that is just waiting for you. You are going to love the soothing sounds of the water as the river ripples by. The house has one bedroom with a queen-size bed and window with a view of the river. There is one bath with a tub/shower combo. Bed linens are provided as well as towels and wash cloths. Towels for any river activity are NOT provided. There is a sofa in the living room that includes two recliners -- it is NOT a sofa bed. A TV with DISH service and DVD player are also in that area. The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking and serving supplies. A phone is NOT provided. Cell phone service is possible but not optimal. A heating / air conditioning unit is located in the living area, along with an electric 'wood burning' stove. Cuddle up in the winter months or open the windows in mild weather to enjoy the refreshing breeze. A charcoal grill is on site, but you'll need to bring your own charcoal. There is also a fire ring with firewood provided. So, book your weekend Rocky River getaway, or stay 6 nights and get one additional night free, or anything in between. You won't be disappointed.
