Little Gasparilla Island is halfway between Sarasota and Ft. Myersin the coastal town of Placida. It has no bridges and is reachable only by private boat, we have a spot at the marina, or the area's water taxi, Pirates Water Taxi. There are no paved roads, just sandy pathways that meander through the sea grapes and Australian pines. Golf carts or walking are the usual mode of transportation. At its widest part, the island is only about 1/4 mile wide, so it is a very easy walk from the dock to your home and/or the beach. While the boat ride from the mainland is only 10 minutes, Little Gasparilla is a world apart. From the moment you arrive, you'll feel your stresses slip away with the tide as you truly unplug and reconnect with your family or friends. Bring your groceries, beverages, toiletries, and a tropical relaxed attitude! Dock your boat at Dock 48 and walk a short 50 yards to the oasis of "Gasparilla Breeze" bungalow! Enjoy quiet evenings taking a golf cart ride on a golf cart available for rent at LGI Carts by reservation. Fish off the dock and catch an array of delicious fish or walk a couple minutes to the pristine white sand, shell covered beach. Watch for manatee in our protected manatee zone or watch crabs and sea turtles!
