Coastguard cottage, set in a beautiful location with a rural feel, faces Pegwell Bay known for its wildlife and seashore birds. The cottage offers two light and airy double bedrooms and one twin, all with ample storage space and crisp cotton bedding. We also offer further sleeping for two in our multi space loft area, which has a high spec comfortable sofa bed, free view television and dvd player...this is also a great space for the children to hang out. There are two hi spec bathrooms, one with a bath tub, both with showers.
We have a spacious lounge with ample seating for eight people and a wood burner to keep you warm and cosy during the colder months. There is a television with Dvd player offering all of the free view channels you would expect and the cottage has wifi throughout. From the lounge double doors open out onto our spacious bright garden, a great space for outdoor dining or just lounging in the sun. If you want to take it inside, the conservatory room overlooking the garden has a large dining table and is moments away from our well equipped kitchen featuring a double oven, microwave, toaster, family sized dishwasher and washing machine, we have all the pots pans and crockery that you will need for your stay. We have a long driveway offering parking for multiple vehicles and a garage for storing bikes and leisure equipment.
Pegwell is an idyllic rural retreat only 10 minutes drive or a 20 minute coastal walk away from Ramsgate, Royal harbour and cafe culture. With London St Pancras only 1hr 10 minutes away by rail. The Viking coastal cycle trail runs through here and we have two lovely village pubs both offering ring side views of the bay...a glass of something watching the most amazing sunset from one of them is a must. On a blustery day the bay is a magnet for kite surfers. The Pegwell bay nature reserve is on your doorstep a great place to explore and take in the sea air. The historical Cinque port towns Sandwich and Dover are 30 minutes drive away and Canterbury around 40 minutes, In the opposite direction you can visit Broadstairs and Margate for their restaurants, sandy beaches and the Turner contemporary, one of the UK's leading art galleries. Whether you choose to do it all or just sit and relax we are sure that you will have a wonderful break at our lovely coastguard cottage.
Note that the loft area is accessed by a wooden space saving staircase, not suitable for the very young or those with impaired mobility. The rest of the cottage is on ground floor level but there is a step into the cottage and another up into the kitchen. Due to the age of the cottage floor levels do vary. Please ask for further information if you need to consider accessibility. Note: We operate an intensive cleaning and sanitising regime and have implemented a 24 hour buffer between bookings for guest assurance.
