Legasea is a small, family orientated beach cabin, situated in Murramarang National Park, in the village of Depot Beach. The two bedroom, one bathroom layout would best suit a couple or a family with young kids, due to it's size. The owners regularly stay here with their own children, family and friends, so things at Legasea are set up as a home with extras to help make a stay comfortable and to avoid having to do a lot of packing for a weekend. Legasea is cleaned by a Registered COVIDSafe Cleaning Business and there are no back to back bookings to allow for the required time to thoroughly sanitise prior to your stay. The beautiful Murramarang National Park was burnt out by bushfires in Dec 2019 and so the photos have been updated to show the effects of this and to give you an accurate sense of the surrounding area. Depot Beach village itself was saved from the fires and so remains generally unchanged. Legasea Cabin has become an essential haven for the surviving native wildlife (particularly kangaroos) and you may be asked to help (if you wish), by leaving out the provided food and water during your stay. What to bring: - beach towels and beach gear - personal toiletries - groceries for your stay (there are no shops at Depot Beach) - bottled water (if you prefer not drinking tank water) Other Legasea features; - an outdoor shower and fire pit (shower is for rinsing sand off after the beach so has cold water, firewood is supplied). - back deck has a gate to keep small children safe and a bar fridge and dart board. - views overlooking the National Park and nearby beaches. - comfortable interior, rather than luxurious. Other things to note: - there is limited mobile phone reception, but you will be told where you can possibly pick up reception at Legasea, depending on your provider. - there is no wi-fi connection at Legasea, so it will be an escape from technology too. - like all of the places at Depot Beach, Legasea cabin runs on tank water and so relies on water conservation. You may notice the hum of the water pumps when you use the water. - due to social distancing requirements, only bookings for groups of up to 4 adults will usually be accepted, with the understanding that you are happy sleeping in bunk beds and that Legasea will be small in space for you. - there is a vintage caravan parked at the front of Legasea, which will not impact your stay in any way. - long weekend bookings will usually be accepted only if it is for the entire weekend. - nearest shopping centre is in Bateman's Bay. The owners, Sally and Sam, are always happy to answer any questions you might have regarding Legasea Cabin and can also provide lots of local knowledge about the area.
