There are numerous hiking trails and lakes in the area for the outdoor enthusiast. Once the snow settles in, the home is located just minutes from your skiing, snow boarding, ice fishing, or snow machining paradise.
Just a few minutes drive to Hatcher Pass, which offers numerous opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, sledding or snow machining.
Enjoy the newer Skeetawk Ski Resort, a unique Alpine ski area with their lift and refreshment area. Or, travel further up the road to Government Peak Recreation Area which in winter offers groomed, lighted recreation trails for some 4.5 miles. The Matanuska Loop is 1.36 miles. The Susitna Loop is 1.29 miles. The Denali/ Competition loops offer 3.9 miles of unlit, challenging, advanced level trails, featuring long steep up hills and fast technical down hills. Or continue further to Independence Mine with the trails.
