The original Lawndale Cottage, built in 1870's has stood the test of time in the private, serene and highly sought after Foxground valley. We invite you to a home filled with old world charm, offering a rustic, farm-house experience and getting back to basics in a rural setting. The modern twist comes in the form of a new wing added to the original cottage, using glass and concrete as a contrast between old and new. This wing allows the guests modern comforts within the privacy of the valley. The original wing has not been modernised and remains an older, yet functioning style.
Immerse yourself in a unique, country-esque style of living, perfect for those hoping to discover the beautiful region! In the evenings, unwind in front of the open fireplace while sipping on one of the many local red wines available from the region or afar.
The modern addition was added by current owners, who specialise in heritage property consulting. Featured in Belle magazine, Lawndale is the perfect blend of historic Australian and modern living. The rustic kitchen includes oven, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine. In summer relax on the front verandah, listening to the cicadas, watching the kangaroos and cows go by, as the sun sets, throwing golden light over the lush green lawns and pasture.
Lawndale offers extensive outdoor entertaining and BBQ area, right next to an infinity edge swimming pool, designed to emulate the crisp clean waters of Broughton Creek which flows next to the property. A large timber fireplace warms the house in winter in the living room with country sofas, flat screen tv & DVD player, along with a wall full of books collected over time.
The master bedroom is a modern masterpiece complete with King bed, flat screen tv, ensuite with oversized tub and separate shower whilst the other bedrooms in the cottage are comfortable and cosy, honest to the era in which they were built, with fresh linens and country decorating to enhance the country experience.
A $750.00 Security Deposit will be required prior to check in. This will be charged to your nominated credit card as a Pre-Authorisation which will be released after you check out.
