Positive: Communication over WhatsApp to arrange the transfers was really good/helpful and very clear. Dinner was very good and you get a lot of food. Unique location on the bay.
Negative: It’s very expensive by Vietnam standards for what you get. The inside of the homestay is very simple and a bit shabby. Bathroom is hard to navigate because it’s wooden planks on rocks. Communication at the property is not great - no English is spoken and when I arrived I was basically given no information about anything (e.g. what time are meals, what is the process to take a kayak, etc.). For the price, I’d expect at least some little bit of English to be spoken and a more welcoming environment upon arrival. Not the fault of the homestay, but the air and water pollution was bad while I stayed. I don’t notice this in many other comments, so maybe I just got unlucky. But I can here to kayak and that wasn’t very enjoyable with trash floating by/into my kayak and a layer of grime on the water in some places. They’re expanding the homestay, so there were a lot of other people at the property while I was there helping with expansion/construction-related matters. The constant shouting and people working on the property really detracts from the experience, especially when the price charged was very high compared to other places I’ve stayed. I was expecting something more peaceful. WiFi is very spotty. I know people try to justify/defend this by saying it’s “good to unplug”, etc., but lack of connection makes it even harder to communicate when Google translate won’t work, plus it interferes with me planning my transport/other aspects of my trip. For the price of this homestay the WiFi should work.
