Positive: This is an adequate 3* hotel so don't be mislead by the name. The staff are friendly, willing but essentially useless if faced with something outside their rigid routine. You even need to strain your neck to catch a view of Lake Ndutu from your room. The lack of passionate, creative hotel management tells!
Negative: Luxury this is not and therefore it was not good value for money. Beds uncomfortable mainly because there were no mattress toppers. Food only adequate and no expresso coffee machines. The onsite management was exceptionally inexperience and looked helpless when faced with complaints. Essentially the head office dictates how the hotel is run and they are so remote, not driven by a passion to have a great hotel, but opportunistically trying to jump on the opportunity of high hotel prices in the Tanzanian national parks. To add insult to the injury of paying US$ 800+ per night they wanted to charge 5.5% for using a credit card!!!! This is the highest such charge I came across in the whole of Tanzania. Greedy people.
Summary: Certainly not luxury near a lake that you can't really see. Exceptionally poor management
