The Lago Magico apartment is on the second floor of the 16th-century Palazzo delle Antiche Murre (the Palace of the Ancient Walls) which was once a customs house controlled by the Borromeo family. The builidng is now a combination of commercial activities and apartments.The facade includes graceful pointed arches and columns which have been elegantly restored and filled in with glass panels.
The bright and airy apartment looks out over Lake Maggiore on one side and Piazza del Popolo, Arona\'s oldest square, on the other. The property features a pretty balcony that enjoys spectacular views of the lake and provides the perfect spot for a morning coffee or a drink at the end of the day.
Inside, the apartment features a decorative, exposed brick ceiling and a cool terracotta tiled floor throughout. The picturesque town of Arona is located on the western shore of Lake Maggiore, directly across from the Borromean Islands. Visitors can take the ferry from the port (a 15-minute walk) and visit the small islands of Isola Bella and the Palazzo Borromeo, the imposing 17th Century palace and its famous gardens.

Arona is also a great base to explore other charming towns and attractions around Lake Maggiore, including Stresa (a 25-minute drive), Verbania (a 40-minute drive) and the Villa Taranto Botanical Gardens (a 42-minute drive).
