Only a stroll across quiet Riverside Drive is the mighty Murray River. From the second storey balcony of our home, you will enjoy watching locals and holiday-goers heading into town for a morning coffee, or watch the comings and goings from the historic Armfield boat shed. And on a Friday evening you'll see the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club in action.
If it's water sports you're after, the boat ramp is only a moment's drive where you can launch your boat, kayak or even venture a swim, or simply find a spot on the riverbank and read a good book.
The Fleurieu Peninsula has an abundance of great restaurants and wineries. Our favourites are Bombora Cafe and Hectors on the Wharf; only minutes away by foot. Other local attractions include the Cockle Train, Fleurieu Distillery and Steam Train Brewery and seasonal art exhibitions. Nearby are the beautiful villages of Port Elliot, Victor Harbor and Middleton, home of the stunning Boomer Beach.
Our vision
With a keen interest in a holistic approach to health and mindfulness, you will be welcomed by a calm, open space in which to enjoy your getaway. The home accommodates up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms. The open plan kitchen/dine/living area overlooks the large balcony hosting a table that seats 8 comfortably, as well as a sitting area and egg chair to enjoy a beautiful sunrise.
The kitchen
As keen cooks ourselves, the kitchen is equipped with everything you will need to cater for yourself, or your whole family, including double oven, induction cooktop and dishwasher. The pantry is stocked with staples making a long-term stay that much easier, and feel free to use fresh herbs from the garden.
The bedrooms
The master bedroom - the "Blue Room" - includes a queen bed with plenty of wardrobe space, and private access to the balcony.
Bedroom 2 will suit the kids just fine, with a single and trundle bed, while bed 3 accommodates 2 in a double bed.
Bedroom 4 - the "Garden Room" is located downstairs with a beautiful sunny aspect with a beautiful vista to the rose garden.
Each level has a large bathroom, downstairs with shower over a bath. A washing machine and dryer are located for your convenience in the downstairs bathroom.
Living
The downstairs living room is the perfect place for the teenagers in the family, fitted with a TV and comfortable sofa.
Parking
Off-street parking is available for up to 4 cars, including a boat, with plenty of additional parking available across the street.
The home has reverse-cycle air-conditioning, both upstairs and downstairs, with ceiling fans in all of the bedrooms for year-round comfort. Wi-Fi and Netflix is available to you and you can login to your own App accounts on one of the two Smart TVs.
Pets
We are dog lovers so we understand you may want to bring your fur-baby (max 2) on holiday with you; pets are welcome but are not allowed on the carpeted areas or floor rugs. The yard is fully fenced but keep in mind small dogs may be able to get through the front fence.

Our home is secured by a sliding gate as part of a fully secure yard for children or larger pets. Accessible through the front or side door, you'll have access to the whole home, including beautiful deck area with stunning views of the river and Hindmarsh Island. All but one bedroom is located on the top floor. There is a step up/step down required in the downstairs area.
In 2007, the historic River Port of Goolwa was accredited as the first Cittaslow or "Slow Town" in Australia. They are part of an international group of towns and cities that improve the quality of life for all who live and work in their town. This will be evident when you go walking through Goolwa. The locals will say hi as you walk past and we encourage you to stop and have a chat to learn more about this beautiful town. We know and respect our neighbours and we ask you to do the same.
Goolwa is the perfect place to stay if you like to walk, ride your bike or take a short drive. La Maison Tranquille is conveniently located only minutes walk from Bombora Cafe, Hectors on the Wharf and Goolwa main street. Simply cross the street and you can dip your toes in the river, or take a 5 minute drive and you're at Goolwa Beach.
If you need transport while you're there, there are several taxi services available, and bike hire is also available in the town.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a quiet building, perfect to relax and enjoy, so please no loud noise & no parties. Quiet Hours are between: 11PM and 8AM. We are in constant contact with the surrounding neighbours who will let us know if there is any disturbances.
NO SMOKING: Strictly NO smoking inside, on the balcony or in any outside areas.
PENALTIES: If any damage is caused, smoking takes place or there is evidence of a party there may a financial penalty plus we will request the repair costs plus the extra cleaning costs. If a guest coming in needs to be moved to another property due to the damage or smell of smoke still being present, we will also request the cost of that nights stay. Please respect these rules.
