You and your party will have exclusive use of the entire rental property.
The 2 gites are set around a pretty courtyard with a games hangar, outdoor kitchen area and large secluded swimming pool.
Les Écuries is currently being converted into a spacious 5-bedroom gite. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms, both of which can be made up into a double. The 5th bedroom, located on the ground floor, is easily accessible and boasts a double bed. Additionally, there is a small double sofa bed in the lounge if required.
La P'tite Boulangerie has one double bedroom and a double sofa bed in the lounge, with plenty of room for a put u up bed in the bedroom suitable for a child.
The whole property can accommodate up to 16 with use of the sofa beds.
Both gites have their own well equipped kitchen and indoor dining areas.
If alfresco dining is desired, you will find a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with dining area and built in BBQ in the courtyard. There is a games hanger with pool table, table tennis, darts, a foosball table and various board and outdoor games equipment. Guests are invited to have a round on the six hole crazy golf course which can be found behind the outdoor kitchen area. There is a laundry room with washing machine, iron and ironing board for guest use. Pool toilets and shower can also be found in the courtyard.
The large, heated swimming pool is surrounded by a secluded grassed area for sunbathing. The pool area is fenced for child safety and contains sun loungers, seating and al fresco dining areas with a second BBQ. To the side of the pool is a children's play area complete with Wendy house and swing and slide set to keep the younger ones entertained while you relax by the pool.
The property can be hired as a whole for large groups or families, or each gite can be hired individually. With exclusive rental of both gites, La Charronnière can sleep 16 people comfortably. Each gite is fully equipped with all you could want for a self catering holiday and both benefit from free WiFi connection and smart TVs with Netflix, and English and French TV channels.
We love animals and, if you have booked exclusive rental of the whole property only, then we are happy to welcome well behaved dogs, by prior agreement.
Just 2 miles away is the village of Chaunay with a small shop, tabac, chemist, hairdresser, bar, restaurant and a bakery. Larger supermarkets such as Intermarche and Super U are within a 15 minute drive of the property.
La Charronnière is immersed in the French countryside and is ideal for families, large groups, walkers, cyclists (roads are practically empty), bird watchers, those keen on fishing, canoeing and golfers.
We are within 15 minutes drive of the Vallee de Singe (Valley of the Monkeys) and just 40 minutes from popular theme park Futuroscope and Poitiers.
There are 2 golf courses within 30 minutes drive and lots of other outdoor pursuits such as canoeing and kayaking within a 20 minute drive.
La Rochelle with its famous old port area, fort and Aquarium is just 90 minutes away. La Marais Portvain (the green venice area) is a 60 minute drive. The town of Cognac which is home to the famous cognac houses such as Hennessy, Martell and Remy Martin can be reached in around 70 minutes and is a great day out even if you do not like brandy! Ride the Velo-rail or watch the excellent Falconry display in the ruins of a castle in Chauvigny approx 60 minutes away. Chateau hop around the Loire Valley, which can be reached in just over 60 minutes, with most of the larger Chateaux within 2 hours. The Charente has a wealth of activities for you to enjoy; chateaux, churches, charming french villages seemingly untouched and places of natural beauty on your doorstep... or you could of course just stay by the pool and relax.
