Positive: Sferracavallo is a wonderful working town full of friendly helpful local people. It’s a great place to stay to experience the real Sicily and amazing seafood. The property is very comfortable and spacious and Andrea the host very helpful and responsive. Its location is perfect for the beaches and train station. The spiral staircase up to the terrace would be a challenge for the less mobile but as a couple of reasonably fit retirees we managed quite well and enjoyed the challenge of getting glasses and plates etc up there to eat! The view is spectacular.
Negative: These are not things we disliked but would have been helpful. Firstly It would have been good to have an ironing board to go with the iron and also a heads up on not overloading the electric. As it was very hot we had to have the air con on in both rooms, when we plugged in other appliances we lost the power, but once Andrea told us where the main fuse box was it was not a problem to reset, we knew what to do! This is nothing to do with our host but the litter on the beaches and in the streets is really excessive. It’s something you have to ignore as the town is so charming.
