Location and Features
The fully air conditioned cabin is located on “Kotuku” a 75 acre lifestyle property with a kilometer of water frontage on Baffle Creek some 80km north of Bundaberg. “Kotuku” is ideal for those seeking a peaceful setting with private access to the Baffle Creek water ways for fishing, boating, crabbing and canoeing. Birdwatching is also an attraction with various habitats attracting a wide range of birds. The property is located close to the Baffle Creek amenities including shops, tavern and golf course.
The cabin is approximately 70 metres from the creek/pontoon and has a rural outlook. Guests have sole use of the pontoon for fishing etc. and securing their boat during their stay. There is also a private boat ramp on the property.
We do not charge additional fees during holiday periods but require a minimum booking of 5 days.
Facilities in the cabin.
The cabin is air conditioned. It has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and one with a double bunk. It is fully self-contained with a full modern kitchen (microwave, cooktop and electric oven, and two fridges). There is an internal toilet, shower, vanity and front-loading washing machine. It has free-to-air satellite TV and video. There is a full length 3m veranda with a gas fired BBQ and outdoor dining setting. There is also firepit adjacent to the cabin with firewood supplied for those that like a campfire. We request no smoking in the cabin . Fresh linen and towels are supplied at the beginning of your stay and replaced weekly or on request.
Boating.
Guests are able to explore the Baffle Creek waterways which are renown for fishing and crabbing as well as their pristine un-spoilt natural beauty. The private boat ramp is best used at the top half of the tide and is suitable for tinnies and smaller boats. We would be happy to assist in launching boats with our 4WD vehicle if required . Your boat can then be tied up to the pontoon for the duration of your stay.
Children and Pets.
Children are welcome and can immerse themselves in adventures that the natural world has to offer.
Well behaved/controlled/vaccinated dogs are very welcome, please bring whatever they require for bedding, water bowls etc. Pets are not allowed on the beds at anytime.
Use of the property.
Guests are most welcome to wander over the property as there is no other guest accommodation on site. Both of us are avid bird watchers so bring your binoculars and field guide as a wide range of bird species are either resident or are seasonal visitors. The Baffle system is ideal for kayaking so if this is 'your thing' also bring your kayak or canoe. We value the pristine environment at “Kotuku” and try to protect it. We like to share the property with our guests and hope they too will value the natural beauty of the Baffle Creek area.
