Positive: For us, it was really nice being in an independent apartment rather than a tourist block. The location was great - not in the very centre of the tourist area but in easy walking distance of the harbour, and close to Lighthouse Beach with its cafe, showers and changing facilities. There are archaeological sites well worth a visit in easy walking distance, as well as plenty of bars and restaurants. Margarita arranged a transfer for us (extra charge) which was very helpful as we arrived late and didn't know exactly where we were heading. She also gave some good recommendations for things to see while we were there, and communication in the run up to our visit was excellent. The apartment had everything we needed to be a home-from-home where we could cook and eat in when we wanted, and enjoy time together. It was great having 2 bath/shower rooms with 3 adults sharing! The air-conditioning was essential and appreciated during our August visit. There's a bus stop really close by, with buses to the old town, the waterpark, and when the end of the holiday comes to the airport. From the old town bus station you can get local buses around Paphos and intercity buses to Nicosea and Limassol. We found all of these to be very reliable and cost effective. Just one note on buses - the "tombs of the kings" bus station is actually before the tombs on the main road and only one stop from the apartment - if you are happy walking it's not worth waiting for the bus!
Negative: We were disappointed on our first morning to find a notice on the gate to the pool saying it was closed due to not meeting regulations. If access to the pool is important to you, I recommend contacting Margarita to check that the issue has been resolved and the pool is back open - it was closed throughout our week in Cyprus. Lighthouse beach offers alternative swimming in the sea just about 5 minutes walk away, which sorted out my need of a morning swim. NB if you do opt for swimming at Lighthouse Beach, it's worth knowing that to the left of the breakwater/pier is sand, to the right is some quite tricky rock so keep left would be my advice!
