Experience a fun and exciting farmhouse stay about 2 hours North of Toronto with lots of activities and attractions both on-site and off-site. Perfect for families looking to make the most of the season or for companies wanting to host a corporate retreat.
This is a very rare cottage experience for several reasons. One of them is that we can accommodate up to 22 guests
The perfect venue for family get-togethers and corporate retreats. Truly offers a unique and relaxing experience. Weddings and other special once-in-a-lifetime events are being accepted.
Stunning waterfront property w/39 acres on Crowe River, 800 ft of water frontage. Extremely private with an elevated view of the river. A long driveway leads you to this 3,000-plus sq ft, two-story home. Comes with a beautiful well-kept barn and six stables. Attention to detail with tongue and groove pine ceiling with exposed beam accents, hardwood floors, cathedral ceilings, and custom stone mantel with wood-burning fireplace. French doors lead from the kitchen to the deck area with a stunning countryside view. Indoor spa-like hot tub running off the kitchen (this is open seasonally, winter months only).
Natural flow with open-concept living and dining room areas connecting to the kitchen. The outdoor pool to the side of the property offers a pleasant alternative to swimming in the lake (the pool is open seasonally, during the summer months). The second floor consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, including a master bedroom with 3 piece ensuite with a walk-in shower. Full basement complete with 3rd full 4 piece bathroom. The basement also has a well-equipped rec room area. 50" flat-screen TV, PLEASE BRING HDMI CABLE to connect from your laptop to the flat-screen, WiFi. We also provide propane BBQ, Patio Furniture, Firepit, and more!
Lots of great boating, fishing, and swimming right on your doorstep! This gorgeous Farmhouse is geared towards multi-generational family retreats. It can be rented weekly or for months at a time. Also makes for an excellent corporate retreat. Plenty of team-building activities on the grounds or in the surrounding area. You have to see it to believe it!
** Please note the following property details:**
1. The outdoor pool and hot tub operate seasonally. Please check with the host to confirm if they'll be open during your stay.
2. The pool is NOT heated.
3. There's 1 television in the basement; however, it's not a smart television nor does it have cable. For entertainment purposes, please bring an HDMI + laptop.
4. The internet connection gets interrupted at times due to our service provider conducting maintenance work on nearby towers.
5. Swimming off the dock is quite weedy/many Lilly pads. However, you are still able to still swim in the lake, which is a little distance off the dock. There is the sand bar that all the locals enjoy swimming at, a little kayak from the house. We do have the pool just off the house as a great alternative. Guests have loved this option!

While my family and I are based in Toronto, Dave is looking after the property. Lisa and Marshall have their beautiful horses at the barn. They keep to themselves pretty much.

Plenty of attractions both on-site and off-site, all within a 10-minute drive from Marmora Retreat. On-site attractions include sports, ping-pong, water sports, forests, nature trails, a pool (seasonal) & hot tub (seasonal), and a fire pit. Numerous seasonal attractions during winter time as well. Off-site attractions: Horsin' Around Riding Ranch, Marmora Mine, Callaghan's Rapids Conservation Area, St. Matilda Church, and Crowe Lake Cruises.
With all the attractions available on-site and off-site, you're guaranteed to love your stay in the historic Iron City of Marmora.
Parking is plentiful at the property as well as if you were to take a drive into the town.
The best mode of transport would be a motorcar. That being said, biking or walking the area is very well suited as well.
We prioritize the health and safety of our guests and have implemented the following protocols at Marmora Retreat:
All touchpoints are sanitized for the next guests immediately after checkout.
Soft surfaces (couches/patio furniture) are also sanitized.
Our cleaner diligently maintains Marmora Retreat in excellent condition.
We recommend that our guests bring their own bedding (duvets and covers) as well as towels (bath and kitchen towels). We will provide fitted bed sheets, pillowcases, and pillows.

Note: Horses are currently unavailable. However, we are actively searching for a suitable replacement. In the meantime, there are still plenty of enjoyable alternatives during your stay.
