Kilbride Lodge is a stunning 2 bedroom self-contained lodge in the village of Tyndrum which is at the southern edge of Rannoch moor. It is a small village in Scotland whose Gaelic name translates as "the house on the ridge". Tyndrum is just 5 miles north of Crianlarich, in the heart of hillwalking country around Glen Lochy - the perfect location for exploring. Kilbride is a standalone lodge in a quiet lane and there are walking opportunities right from your door. The West Highland Way passes through the village, should you wish to join the thousands who give it a go each year. The West Highland Way is of course, the most walked long-distance trail in Scotland and attracts about 85,000 people every year, of whom more than 30,000 walk the entire route. However, if sitting round the firepit and having a BBQ is more your thing, then you'll certainly be able to relax and do just that here. There are some boardgames in the lodge for a night in with the kids too. Although there is no separate sitting room, there are 2 spacious bedrooms, each with its own double sofa and a TV in each bedroom. The Double bedroom has a luxury en-suite wet room and the Twin bedroom has an en-suite shower room. There is excellent WIFI & access to Netflix as well. The lodge is suitable for wheelchair users, with it being on one level and there is a spacious wet room off the double bedroom also. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and a breakfast bar with 2 stools. Another separate breakfast table with benches adds further seating facilities. At the rear of the lodge is an area for sitting outside, having a BBQ and relaxing by the firepit. Tyndrum is on 2 major road links - the main A82 divides just north of the village and heads towards Fort William via Glen Coe, while the A85 heads west to Oban. It is also the smallest town in the UK with 2 train stations - ‘Upper Tyndrum' and ‘Tyndrum Lower'. The lodge is 200 yards from Tyndrum Lower station - this is the line that runs from Glasgow to Oban. If you want to venture north, hop on the train at Tyndrum Upper to get to Fort William and Mallaig. It is only a short walk between the two stations.
