We are close to various state parks and beaches. Centrally located KENS CONCH KEY COTTAGE is located at the exact midpoint of the Florida Keys, or the halfway mark between the mainland & Key West, making us a perfect home base for day trips & sightseeing. Kens Conch Key Cottage sits on a quiet underdeveloped island with an easy relaxing pace of life, and few small residential streets, where you can take a leisurely stroll or bike ride on our bikes (no real traffic to worry about) & explore the island. You can take an ocean water swim off our private dock, take a nap under the large Tiki hut in our hammocks and still embrace the authentic charm of the Old Florida Keys. From Kens Conch Key Cottage you can embark on a scenic adventure, launch the kayaks, fish the flats, explore the island waterside, paddle to surrounding sandbars other island beaches & scenic waterways (close by) that are accessible by small boat or kayak only. All our guests may enjoy the use of our bicycles & kayaks without charge. KENS CONCH KEY COTTAGE is on a beautiful water view setting. The back yard opens to a large Tiki Hut with swinging hammocks, dining table, electric outlets, ceiling fans, & night time lighting on the water. It's perfect for relaxation, sunset cocktail hour, outside dining, BBQ grilling and star gazing at night. Scenic & on the water, manatees, tropical fish & Loggerhead turtles often come by to visit. Daytime or shine a light into the water at night and you'll see tropical fish, lobster, octopus, and other sea life passing around our dock. Our neighbors, Doc (the unofficial mayor of Conch Key), & brothers Steve & Jeff, are professional commercial lobstermen who will sell you fresh caught from their boats, lobster and stone crab when in season; or ask your other next door neighbor Captain Dan, professional captain & fishing guide to take you on a 1/2 day or full day charter on his boat and catch your own fish without having to drive anywhere; just wake up, step off your back porch & onto his boat. After a beautiful day on the water Captain Dan will help or filet your fish. You can cook them on the grill as soon as you get off the boat, or take it to many of the local eateries that will cook your catch for a delicious meal. Kens Conch Key Cottage is located within walking distance of the dedicated world class Long Key fishing bridge ( apx. 3 miles long). Day or night you can cast your bait from land or bridge for tarpon & many other variety of salt water fish. The bridge is also a great place take a bike ride, go for a walk, or jog if you are a runner, and catch a beautiful sunrise or sunset over the water. For our guests who own or bring boats, the boat launch is only about a block away from the cottage. Our large dock will accommodate a boat up to 23' in length (no additional dock charges) & there's plenty of room on property to store you trailer (again no additional parking charges). There is immediate Bay & Ocean access for flats or deep sea fishing, lobstering, diving, snorkeling and other water activities. Qualified boaters who have MADE PAYMENT for a cottage booking of 7 nights or more, MAY THEN inquire about a SEPARATE SMBO rental. AFTER YOU MAKE PAYMENT this site releases withheld contact information they edit from our communications, allowing us to proceed with a MANDATORY qualifying phone interview and a specific quote for your booking. This 2 passenger (11.6') Craig Cat can be booked for the full cottage rental period OF 7 NIGHTS OR GREATER only (no daily rates), is capable of being used for island hopping, scenic on water exploring, and boat only accessible island beaches. This fun boat is capable of getting under the many smaller lower height bridges dividing ocean & bay, allowing easier access to island beaches & skinny water scenic waterways etc. This boat is only available for reservation AFTER payment for the cottage rental, is not for use or in deeper oceanside water OR NIGHTIME USE. If you are interested in a larger boat or shorter boat rental period, we can refer you to a close & practical boat rental company. KENS CONCH KEY COTTAGE is a cozy 2bedroom/2bath romantic getaway with WIFI internet access. Accommodations are comfortable for 2 guests on each queen size bed, and if necessary 1 guest on the couch (crowded & not recommended). This cottage is best suited for couples or families with older children. The 2nd bedroom/bath is attached to the cottage, only accessible by a private front porch courtyard entrance/exit, not accessible through the body of the main cottage. This provides an extra level of comfort & privacy for 2 couples traveling together or families with older children. The 2nd bedroom/bath may be unsuitable for younger children. Each side includes its own bathroom, Direct TV with premium channels, & separate thermostatically controlled central a/c & heat. THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE RENTAL, NO LARGE GATHERINGS. We love great guests that are respectful of our neighbors & our property on this quaint island & thus limit non-booked guests at any time during your stay. We enforce this policy and have outside security cameras around the perimeter of the cottage, our manager lives next door. The "enter dates for accurate pricing" tab from this site are ESTIMATED RATES based on a 2 bedroom 2 bath rental for 2 couples as a maximum of 4 guests sharing 2 queen size beds, & will not accurately reflect administrative fees, minimum stay requirements, pricing, or other conditions, especially for HOLIDAY/SPECIAL EVENT PERIODS or ADDITIONAL GUESTS. For Example: The Sportsmen 2 day Lobster Mini Season (usually the last Wednesday & Thursday in July), & any rental including 1 or both Xmas or New Years Eve, require a MINIMUM 7 NIGHT BOOKING during which our rates are higher than non holiday or special event periods. We may edit any quote & send it back for your approval prior to booking a reservation. So when booking from this site WE WOULD PREFER YOU SEND US AN INQUIRY FOR YOUR DATES & NOT USE THE AUTOMATIC (prepaid) BOOKING FEATURE on this site. We can then provide a real time quote & other possible pertinent information to you prior to you being charged. REFUNDS - Our property is listed as having a no refund cancellation policy on this site because we would not submit to some of Expedia business policies & terms. Although listed as a no refund booking, WE WILL HONOR THE FOLLOWING REFUND POLICY: We will provide a 100% refund (including reservation deposit) for any booking if we are restricted by mandate from accepting guests on their check in date; OTHERWISE all Advanced Bookings require a non refundable $500.00 RESERVATION DEPOSIT for each week or part of a week booked (because it makes the dates unavailable for others who would otherwise book the property), until 60 days prior to the check in date when the balance and all monies are due & non refundable. CANCELLATION REQUESTED 60 Days or more before the check in date receive any payment minus the reservation deposit. RENTAL AGREEMENT & Damage Security Deposits We require you email us a scanned copy of your Drivers License with signed rental agreement and guest register (provided by attachment in our answer to your inquiry), during or immediately after you book the cottage AS A CONDITION TO OCCUPY THE COTTAGE, or forfeit payment. We try hard to return Damage/Security Deposits within a few days of your departure. DEFINITIVELY A NO SMOKING/NO PET/NO PARTY RENTAL.
