Positive: The location is excellent, especially if you want to stay close to MIT or Harvard. The host is very helpful, polite, and a lovely person overall. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant—a great place to relax after a busy day. The bed was perfectly sized and very comfortable, which made the stay even better. Overall, it’s a good budget-friendly option in a great location, especially if you're comfortable with a few quirks.
Negative: There’s no air conditioner, but opening the window helped keep the room cool. The bathroom is quite compact, and there were some yellowish stains on the side of the counter near the sink — likely due to the tight layout. A deeper clean in that area would help. The breakfast described in the listing refers to two eggs and a carton of milk provided daily, but you’ll need to cook it yourself. That was a bit of a surprise, as I usually don’t cook when I travel, but it could work well for someone who does. One thing to note: the walls are pretty thin. I could hear a woman coughing throughout the night from the neighboring apartment. Also, my room was on the third floor and there’s no elevator, so be prepared if you carry heavy luggage.
