*Please Note:
All houses in Joshua Tree are on a Septic Tank system. For this reason nothing can be flushed down the toilet except toilet paper. Following these guidelines will avoid problems with the plumbing.

Our neighbors are very nice and down-to-earth. We enjoy this quiet and harmonious environment together.
Parties or Events or Extra Guest
We do not allow guests to throw parties or events at our property.
Please be kindly noticed that all extra guests should be approved by host before arrival and they will need to leave the property by 9pm per County’s STR Reinforcement Code. Any unapproved visitors will be charge $200 per person according to the House Rules in the listing. Please feel free to contact us if any questions.
* Furniture and Paintings
We understand that many guests like our furniture, which inspires them to move some pieces for a new look during their stay. Please remember to return the furniture to its original place before you check out.
Please let us know if there are any serious stains on the furniture or floors, or if here is damage to anything and we will try our best to fix it ASAP.
All the paintings and wall decorations are gifted and shipped overseas by our friends across the world. We removed the glass cover for better aesthetics, leaving them very fragile. Please do not touch the paintings and wall decorations.
If you are interested in having a photo shoot at Joe's Retreat, please inquire first. There are extra fees.
*Parking
There is a carport in backyard area for parking. Please drive your vehicle to the designated parking space. Parking in front of the house or on the right side will obstruct your view.
Locking Up
Remember to lock up when you leave and at night. This is for your safety! Although our rental is in a safe neighborhood, we take security very seriously.
Smoking
The home is a non-smoking environment. Please smoke outside and dispose of your cigarettes in the trash. We appreciate your cooperation!
Trash Disposal
You will find trash bags in the cabinet under the sink of the kitchen. When the trashcan is full, please remove the trash bag and take it to the trash container in the backyard. Trash gets picked up by the city every Monday.
Reservation change Policy:
In order to provide the best service to all our guests and smooth process of requests, all date changes have to be made at least 30 days prior to check-in date. Each reservation only allows one change request. All change requests are for the same property only. Switching priorities is not allowed. We thank you for your understanding and support.
Dishes
Please load the dishwasher prior to checking out if you have used any dishes. Be sure to remove excess food into the trash. we will run the dishwasher after checkout.
Security System
Joe’s retreat has one security cameras monitoring the property. These are installed for to ensure the safety of our guests and the property. For your privacy, the feed automatically erases every 5 days. Obscuring, moving or otherwise altering the security camera is prohibited. $1000 fine per violation.
Pets
We allow dogs, and dogs only, on our property. Please let the host know during booking if you plan on bringing your pet. There is a $60fee per stay for each dog.
Broken Items
If for any reason, you break an item during your stay, please let us know. We understand that accidents happen, but in order to fix or replace something for a future guest to enjoy, we will need to know that it is broken. We appreciate your honesty.
Checking Out
For your health and other guests, please enjoy a shower before getting in the Jacuzzi. Please open the cover before using it. The spa operating panel can adjust the water temperature, jet massage, lights, and all other features. Close the cover and lock the buckle after you're finished with the Jacuzzi.
Air Conditioning
The air conditioning provides cooling and heating in every room. An AC controller can be found in the living room on the coffee table, or in the bedrooms on the nightstands.
Washer and dryer
We provide a washer and dryer in the laundry room and provide detergent.
First Aid and fire extinguisher
There are many spikey plants in the desert; if you are accidentally injured, we have first aid in the master bathroom under the wash basin. We suggest being careful when using the fire, and we provide a fire extinguisher next to the cabinet in the kitchen. It can be used when necessary.
Guidebook
We have prepared a Joshua Tree National Park Guidebook and hiking manual for you. It is placed on the coffee table. Please do not take it with you after your stay. Please put it back in place so that the next guest can use it easily.
Fire pit
Located in the backyard is a classic wood burning fire pit, feel free to use it at your leisure. Firewood is not provided, but is easily accessible in surrounding areas. For your safety please make sure fire is completely extinguished before you head to bed, or leave the property unattended.
