The house, suitable for families or couples of friends, recently restored, is on two floors. On the ground floor there is a small living room with sofa bed and fireplace, the kitchen, the bathroom with shower and window. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one double with a large marble bathroom and the other with a single bed and another slightly smaller bed for a child or a boy up to twelve. Altogether five beds for adults plus one. In the house there is no heating or air conditioning.
The property overlooks a large terrace equipped with barbecue, tables and chairs to be able to eat outside, read, rest in good weather. The terrace and the facade of the house in turn overlook the Botena stream.
The house is located in a small hillside village, surrounded by greenery and bordered by a stream; can only be reached on foot. The car must be left in a small parking lot three minutes walk away.
We are in Tuscany, on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, in the municipality of Vicchio, Giotto's birthplace. In the surrounding countryside, near Ponte a Vicchio, there is a large area with swimming pools and tennis courts and a good restaurant, La casa del prosciutto, very popular with locals. From Ponte a Vicchio are possible excursions by bike on cycle paths; the area is full of small other taverns and refreshment places. In Vicchio there are shops, supermarkets, ATMs. There is the Post Office and the railway station. Near the lake of Vicchio you can practice horse riding, canoeing, archery. In the Mugello there is a racetrack, where motorcycling and motor racing are held (exit on the Bologna-Florence, Barberino exit).
For archeology enthusiasts in Dicomano, not far from Vicchio, there is a small archaeological museum with Etruscan finds from nearby sites. At Poggio di Colla, in the municipality of Vicchio, excavations are still in progress.
