Hermosa Retreat is an exclusive escape nestled in the jungle above the famous Playa Hermosa (Uvita). Absolutely stunning views of the Pacific ocean, year-round sunset, and the legendary Whale's tail. All that with the constant ocean breeze flowing through the house.
This villa gives you the opportunity to be part of the pristine ecosyatem of costa rica as far as wildlife observation is concerned: toucans, scarlett macaws, white face and howler monkeys, sloths, etc.
This villa has 3 generous bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The living area is perfectly designed for the tropics as it opens up to a large outside terrace with a sofa to relax and lose yourself in this perfect paradise. A great place for yoga and meditation. For the warm afternoon, we have an infinity pool to refresh yourself. The house comes equipped with top-quality amenities and fiber internet (up to 100Mbps).
Hermosa Retreat also has a great location. It is located just 15 min south of Dominical and 5 min north of Uvita. It is also 30 min from Quepos airport and 40 min from the famous Manuel Antonio beach and National Park. There is plenty of beautiful beaches, surf, rivers, waterfalls, and restaurants within a short drive (no need for a 4x4). The closest beach is Playa Hermosa - just a 4 min drive from the house.

Summary: This property is extremely well maintained and the view is absolutely breathtaking—photos truly don't do it justice. The highlight was definitely the panoramic view of the Whale’s Tail, which made the entire stay feel special.As a group of women traveling together, some of the security instructions made us a bit uneasy at first. We were advised to always set the alarm, keep lights on, and bar doors/windows, which gave the impression that the area might not be the safest. Security was noted as being on-site from 5 PM to 5 AM, but we never actually saw any guards during our comings and goings. Fortunately, we didn’t encounter any issues, but not being able to set the alarm while inside did leave us a little on edge the first few nights.The town itself felt a bit rougher than other parts of Costa Rica we’ve visited. It didn’t impact our safety, but it did affect the overall feel of the location especially after the safety instructions.The beds were quite firm and the pillows weren't the most comfortable. Also worth noting: the pool is not heated and can be pretty chilly, especially in the evenings. We opted for the chef one night who was amazing and Jerome was helpful in coordinating!Overall, the house and view were incredible, and we enjoyed our stay—but for future trips, we may opt for a more central area with full-time security for added peace of mind or use the chef/concierge options more to not need to leave the property as much or go into town.
