Positive: A stunning location, with views over the dale to the moor. High Force and Low Force are nearby. There are wonderful walks for all ages and abilities. Wildflowers, lapwings, curlews, swimming places at Scoberry bridge. The hot tub was a big hit, especially on the rainy days. Very comfortable beds, nice bed-linen and big towels. A lovely welcome pack, including new-laid eggs. The French cuisine at the Forresters Arms was amazing, and the service really friendly.
Negative: As with many older buildings, the kitchen is not next to the dining room, so there was a lot of carrying things back and forth at mealtimes.
Summary: A wonderful family holiday in a comfortable house, in a blissful location
