HoneyBear Cabin and The Old Bear's Den is a truly genuine New England experience. An authentic log cabin on 4 acres of fenced woodlands with a mountain view and nearby flowing river. Our family home offers over 2800 sq ft of living space with 3 bdrms and 4 bthrms. Our cabin is 8 mins from both Mt Sunapee and Lake Sunapee for year round seasonal enjoyment. The Old Bear's Den, offers you a separate space to enjoy indoor activities with your loved ones. Pool Table,Card Table, BoardGames, TV and a Wet Bar. This peaceful cabin offers serenity and relaxation and all that New Hampshire has to offer for every season of the year. The information below is to help all guest inquiries and those who book to ensure an amazing trip. Our goal is on having great communication and being upfront about all things so there are no surprises. We truly love sharing our cabin with families and guests interested in relaxing and unwinding in nature. IF YOUR GROUP IS INTERESTED IN PARTYING NO INQUIRIES. Our cabin is a unique hand built one of a kind log cabin. To preserve its integrity for generations of enjoyment for our family and others we do not host guests for that purpose. We are in the woods. Country living is exactly that. Nature and its creatures are at home out here and living with them is a way of life. We have deer, chipmunks, many types of birds, bears and even Moose. In addition we have all types of bugs; from ladybugs to bumblebees, to ants and spiders. This is normal for the country. We don't want guests to be surprised by nature and be upset :) In the country, we run on a septic system and are unable to accommodate more then 8 quests. In addition no children under 8. *Guests with little ones inquire first so we can discuss. Please note there are stairs as the home is on 3 levels and can be difficult for elderly guests. Cell service is patchy in the area but we have strong WIFI. You can enable WIFI calling on your phones to help and we do provide a land line inside the cabin. The Cabin: Nearly 2800 square feet on 3 levels between two separate spaces. HoneyBear Cabin is an original Log cabin custom built in 1972 with authentic trees. The Lower level was finished in the last 5 years to complete the 3 bedroom accommodations. We have 2 bedrooms on the ground level. One bedroom is large and has a Queen bed and a sitting area by the fireplace for a cozy space to sit and relax and enjoy a glass of wine or a warm cup of tea. The second bedroom has two twin beds for children or adults. Enter into the home through our mudroom and easily leave all your outdoor gear there. Upstairs: Main level is an open concept space. The kitchen has the essentials you will need to include dishware, coffee maker, stove, fridge and microwave. Dining room and living room fireplace for ambiance and warmth on those chilly winter nights. Our favorite space is the Sunroom. This is your retreat from worry and care. Grab a book from our collection or bring your favorite novel. The views from this room in Autumn are spectacular. New Hampshire is world renowned for its Fall Foliage and we are so happy to be able to share this piece of heaven with you . P.S. Don't forget to say Hi to Shadow, he is our resident Black Bear and he LOVES back rubs :) The Master Bedroom is located on the third level. A loft at the top of the stairs provides you with a work space and view of the wooded property if you MUST get some work done. A full size futon is available to provide sleeping accommodations for a 7th or 8th guest MAX(full size futon) . The Master Bathroom has a giant walk in shower and a beautiful skylight and window view from the shower. It really makes me feel like I am showering outdoors. Speaking of the Outdoors, Walking sticks are provided to walk the 4 acre wooded property. Close by hiking trails are also available with rock climbing and canopy ziplines at nearby Mt Sunapee during the spring and summer months. Lawn games such as Horseshoes, Cornhole, Volleyball and Football are also available in the garage. At night since there is no city lights to disturb your view, a free planetarium show is available from your own deck chair. A telescope is also provided for star gazing. You will have access to the entire home and its 3 levels. You will have access to the Old Bear's Den and the garage. You will have access to the full fenced property. Antique shopping, local restaurants, a dairy farm complete with a petting zoo to grab some fresh eggs, butter and ice cream are some of the adventures you may find yourself on. 3 Night Min Stay Required NO SMOKING NO VAPING on/ in property NON NEGOTIABLE Cleaning Fee $145 NO VISITORS *additional charges for overnight guests applied *75/per person over 7 per night. IF extra guests arrive and where not paid for at time of booking $150per person/per night will be charged or leave premises. We have several ways to keep in touch while you are staying at the cabin and are always available to help make your stay everything you hope it would be. We are located on a well kept packed dirt road that is maintained by the Town of Newbury. Heavily wooded landscape and a flowing river lining the road is the main view of our neighborhood. We have a snow mobile trail at the end of our street if you are looking for a trail to hop on. Several charming country homes can be seen while driving the scenic roads near our home. Although we are in the country we are easily accessible to Highway 103 and 89. Note: Property does have Security Cameras on Exterior We are located 8 minutes from Lake Sunapee and Mt Sunapee resort. During the winter months all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive vehicles are recommended. Most local attractions are off of highway 103 which runs through the Town of Newbury and Sunapee area.
