Our home is an old farmhouse nestled in green hills surrounded by olive groves and vineyards with stunning 180 degree, uninterrupted views from the pool and terrace. It was sympathetically renovated in the 1990's and since then has been lovingly looked after. You will find everything you need here to relax and rejuvenate. Maintained to the highest standard of comfort you will feel properly looked after. It has a peaceful feeling of being away from it all, but is only a short drive to beaches, hilltop towns and shops. Relax or explore - or do both!
Placed in amongst the fig trees and olives is the cool, refreshing pool. You can catch glimpses of the breath taking views in between the trees as you float gently in the blue, relaxing water giving you a sense of complete unplugging from the outside world. It's not completely quiet as the numerous birds and crickets like to celebrate the fact that they also live here.
In the outside portico there is a fridge for drinks and to keep food fresh to cook on the built in barbecue. Here you can rest from the sun or keep dry if it rains and still not miss out on nature or watching the children in the pool.
The pergola offers outside sheltered dining/sitting with amazing views over the valley and the mountains beyond.
In the mature garden there are many little private spaces to sit to take in another view, to read, or to snooze in the hammock.
You are welcome to pick the fruits of the trees to accompany your breakfast or dinners as you sit eating on the terrace and look out over uninterrupted views. In May and June sit and wonder at the magic of the fireflies at night whilst listening to songbirds. at this time you can also pick cherries. See if you can spot a Humming Bird Moth or one of the many tiny little lizards. Each month offers nature's best. Take your blanket down to the bottom of the olive grove and enjoy the sunset from a different place.
We have equipped the house to the highest standard.
The kitchen has plenty of place settings, glasses, cooking pots, utensils and much more to make sure that the most enthusiastic of cooks has everything they need to make delicious food. A dishwasher is included for your use. We provide dishwasher tablets, dishcloths, washing up liquid and rubbish/recycling bin bags.
The bedrooms have good, comfortable mattresses and pillows with crisp cotton sheets. All towels will be provided (hand, bath and pool). There are two king sized beds and two single beds and a comfortable futon in the living room, all with ensuite access to a bathroom. Each room has a hairdryer, along with bedside cabinets, wardrobe and mirror... oh, and also a view! Here you will also find washing machine, ironing board, iron, and fold away baby cot.
In the living room you will find comfortable chairs to relax in. Here there is a TV, DVD and CD player with many DVD's as another option for relaxation.
The breathtaking views as you walk to the front of the house instantly draw you into a different space. You can choose to spend all of your time here soaking up the benefits of nature and the peace and quiet, travelling a few minutes to Mondavio (voted one of the most beautiful hilltop towns in Italy) for a drink in the square or a meal in restaurants with views to die for; or, you can explore the many hilltop towns with their rich histories close by.
Walk along the cobbled streets of the beautiful hilltop towns, discovering beautiful art and museums, or stop off to eat in the many Osterias. Marche food is a treat and part of the slow food movement - with delicious, local fresh cuisine from the sea, and harvest from the mountains you will find that you don't have to spend a fortune here for a three course meal and a bottle of the crisp white local wine, Verdicchio. Nearby, you can visit the largest cave in Europe (Caves of Frasassi), or venture further to the unforgettable Conero Peninsula National Park (also known as the Conero Riviera). If you fancy a day on the beach, Marotta is a 20 minute drive away and has a beautiful sea front with blue, clean water where you can hire a bed for the day and eat in the fish restaurants on the beach.
