Villa 'Mediteranea' is a traditional Dalmatian stone house (90 m2) with a swimming pool (30 m2), terrace (150 m2) and an outdoor kitchen (15 m2), surrounded by olive trees.
Great for couples and families. Close to three beautiful sandy beaches, crystal clear water, excellent local restaurants and autochthonous wine.
The house is located on a hill Vela Glavica, right above the sea, away from
traffic noise and is only reachable on foot. Personal vehicles can be parked rather
close, next to the church Sv.Roko or below the house, near the beach.
Short pathway leading to the villa takes you through the traditional Dalmatian street and near
the houses in the neighbourhood, many of which come from the 17th century. At the very
end of the street is your destination and so is the magnificent view that spreads over the
archipelago.
According to the impression of many guests and visitors who traveled,
not only all over Croatia, but all over the world, this is one of the most breathtaking
views they ever experienced.
Villa Mediteranea is a perfect mix of traditional and modern and it's origin story is
especially noteworthy and is told about for decades. The house was built by a local
stonecutter, with his own hands. The exact timeframe isn't known, however the
ancestors of this place say that it is old at least 200 years. This hardworking man
transported each stone with a tiny boat from a nearby isle, cut it and little by little, he
built this house for himself and his family.
It's been decades since then, the time took its toll and the house had to go through
reconstructions, last of which happened a few years ago when my family and myself
renewed it. However, while doing so, we specifically made sure that the original spirit
of the house is preserved and therefore the outside of the house remained almost
untouched.
The inside of the house is also embellished by stone walls with thickness
between 50 and 70cm which keep the temperature during the hot summer days
almost ideal.
