Summary: We came for an after Christmas break and to check out Apalachicola. The cottage was walking distance to pretty much everything. The beds were comfy and the place was spacious, except for the second bedroom, which was adequate but small. The kitchen is well appointed but the kettle on the stove was just for looks, don’t even ask what was in it when I tried to clean it. Even though a fireplace was advertised it was not operational, and I did call about it after we checked in, which was really disappointing. Even the instructions for the AC/heater pointed out how cozy the fireplace was when on. The art work had a LOT of modern pieces throughout, which didn’t really match the historic vibe. I would have liked to have had a few touches of seasonal decor, but we bought a poinsettia to make it feel a little Christmassy. All in all, it was just a weekend stay in an old quirky cottage in an old town. Still have mixed feelings about our stay at the Haney Guest Cottage.
