This lovely Nantucket vacation rental is a rambling home in the old historic district. It features wonderful walk to town convenience coupled with the quiet and beauty of Lily Pond Land Trust. It has an updated kitchen with gas range, quartz countertops and all new appliances. A new addition on the back features a living room with wet bar and a second floor Master Suite. Off the master is a private outdoor porch perfect for bird watching over Lily Pond. Outside the living room is a stone patio for al fresco dining. The large well manicured lawn abuts the land trust and is great for lawn games. An outdoor shower is provided close to the house for an after beach rinse. From the indoor dining room an outside porch with umbrella can sit eight for dinner. A Weber grill is available for outside cooking. Parking is available off street in the driveway.

Summary: With 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, this rental property was perfect for our family of 5. It has historic charm with slanted wide-plank flooring, fixtures and such, yet has been modernized in essential ways - bright new kitchen, bathrooms, and a large living room space / addition at the back of the house. The kitchen is fully-stocked and we enjoyed the deck for dinner al fresco a couple nights. We also enjoyed the proximity to town, walking to Brown-Eyed Susan's for breakfast, Juice Bar for ice cream, the book shops, Atheneum, Whaling Museum, and Children's Beach. We were able to walk to Jetties Beach for the 4th of July fireworks - it only took about 20 minutes. Very conveniently located to downtown, yet in a quiet residential neighborhood. Only two suggestions: 1. Would love to see more detailed printed instructions on trash and recycling regulations / expectations, 2. The smaller front bedroom upstairs could use a headboard - since the bed doesn't fit against the wall, my son's pillows fell off the end every night and he was frustrated with that. Overall, we loved the house and property! The communication with the owners and property manager were excellent, and I highly recommend.
