Original 110 year old charm remains intact throughout our home, except for the brand new electric, plumbing, kitchen and bathrooms. Best of both worlds! The Highwater (est. 1907) is a historic craftsman bungalow on a classic midtown Sacramento street lined with huge trees and filled with friendly neighbors walking their dogs. Stay under one of midtown’s gorgeous “tree tunnels!” (tree tunnel not present in winter).
Enter through the stained glass door and downstairs you’ll find a living and formal dining room, kitchen with all new appliances, one full bathroom with tub, and 3 bedrooms with queen beds and closets in each. Upstairs is the “primary suite,” a full bathroom and a giant bedroom with a queen bed and a twin daybed, TV / entertainment center, and two gianormous bean bags to enjoy a movie from. They fit one person each in “cocoon” orientation, or two folks each in “love seat” mode.
We’ve got three TVs, each with Apple TVs. Central heat and AC. Ceiling fans in every bedroom. Dishwasher. Full size washer and dryer. Dining room table large enough to seat at least 8. Six-burner propane grill in the backyard. And all the people-watching one can handle on the raised front porch.
We stay in The Highwater often and we’ve put a lot of care into ensuring that it’s comfortable and convenient to live in.
Easily walk 3 blocks to McKinley Park, 4 blocks to restaurants, bars, live music, and shops. 5 blocks to the river access entrance (skate park and beaches). Or stay home and watch peaceful midtown go by from the patio furniture on the raised full width front porch.
We have driveway parking for 1 compact vehicle and a visitor’s permit you can place on your dash to allow all day/night parking on the street in front of the house for another. You can also park with no restrictions around the corner from the house.
Please be careful, including clearance when opening doors - the driveway is narrow but it carefully accommodates 1compact vehicle. We are not responsible for vehicle damage!
*Please be advised* There are steep steps leading up to the front porch / front door, as well as to the 2nd story primary suite, and down from the back porch into the backyard. Please consider mobility before booking. The house is not childproofed in any way and steps as well as other historic features of the home may present a hazard to children.
