The beach, the woods, and New York City. Our home sits on a cliff overlooking Sandy Hook, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Manhattan Skyline. Enjoy the serene grounds and water views before heading to Hartshorne Woods for a hike, Sandy Hook for a swim, or the sun filled loft for some creative thinking. The Woodland House is the ideal setting for a family vacation or an outdoors lovers workcation. Follow us on Instagram! @one_millerhill The Woodland House is a four bed three bath custom colonial that was built in 1913 and renovated over the years. The window filled studio loft was created by a renowned artist and the original Douglas fir floors creak under your step. This house has great vibes. We're located in Highlands, NJ a 35 minute ferry from NYC and a ten minute walk from both Hartshorne Woods and Sandy Hook Beach. We are close to the shops and restaurants in Highlands, Seabright, and Rumson. Walking distance from local favorites Bahrs, Off the Hook, and Bay Ave Bakery (we highly recommend the crumb cake). The house is well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen, more coffee brewing devices than are probably necessary, a juicer, Avalon Organics bath products, a record player, board games, books, and an internet/Netflix enabled TV. Take the kayak and paddle board to the picturesque Navesink River. Rinse off in the outdoor shower, fire up the grill, set the dog loose in the fenced in yard, and enjoy some wine with the ocean breeze. You can explore Battery Lewis on a hike in Hartshorne Woods and head to locals beach just over the Highlands bridge in the afternoon. The Woodland House is located in an adventurers playground with many outdoor activities all around you. Back at the house you have your choice of two porches (the coffee porch and the wine porch) both with stunning views of over 20 miles of ocean to start and end your day of adventure. The master bedroom has a Casper mattress, the Purple and Map rooms have remarkable views from Manhattan to Fire Island. Please be respectful of our home and our belongings. A lot of time and effort has gone into making this space as comfortable as possible and we hope to share it for a long time. Enjoy your stay!
