A cute home in a great location just off Broadway and close to everything downtown...The CLYDE Theatre, 07 Pub, Trubble & Mad Anthony Breweries, Foster Park, Electric Works, the Rivergreenway bike path, Parkview Stadium, the Convention Center, Public Library and so much more!
The space
The home was built during World War 2, most likely as employee housing for General Electric (a few blocks north). The neighborhood, located just off the Broadway corridor, is unique for it's access to the river, spaciousness of lots and location on a quiet cul-de-sac.
The house itself is a 2 story Cape Cod on a basement. The main floor hosts the living room, 2 bedrooms and completely renovated kitchen & bath. Upstairs you'll find the 3rd bedroom featuring a king bed, comfy recliner and a 2nd desk (great for working or playing with hair & makeup). And finally, just a few steps down in the basement you'll have full access to the laundry room with it's folding table, ironing board and brand new washer & dryer.
Guest access
Off Broadway! is a full-time Airbnb, so with the exception of our "Host Storage" room in the basement, the place is yours. This includes the deck and storage shed next to it.
Other things to note
- For the best guest experience, we encourage up to a 4 person stay (due to the single bathroom and eat-in kitchen seating). Knowing that, a 5th guest is more than welcome.
- We provide high speed internet. Our provider is Frontier and we have their upgraded FIOS (fiber) broadband service.
- While we don't have cable tv, we do have a new 50" smart tv with an antenna for local & network programming. There is a long HDMI cable that will reach the coffee table if you want to plug in your own computer or device. We also have a house NETFLIX account which you are encouraged to use.
- We provide 2 bicycles that are great for both neighborhood exploring and extended rides on the River Greenway. Please see our notes in the "House Rules" section concerning there use
- There is no door to the upstairs bedroom, either at the top or bottom. While this is AWESOME for providing sunlight and an open/airy feel to a smaller space, it's something to be aware of if you have small children or the desire for more privacy.

Summary: This was by far the best stay I've ever had in a Verbo home and certainly the best host. The place is very clean and well furnished. You can tell the owners care. I stayed for a whole week while on sabbatical. The place was perfect. It was a lovely home to study and read. The neighborhood is safe and part of a revitalization effort in the beautiful town of Fort Wayne. Home is close to a walking trial. Fort Wayne is a beautiful, safe town. Can't say enough about the stay I had. The neighbor had a fantastic garage sale while I was there. Got some real bargains. Thank you so much!
